What kind of a Role Model is bush for our children?
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 08:34 AM by Philosoraptor
We heard a lot of bloviating about how that awful Bill Clinton was such a bad role model for our nation's youth. Oh the wailing about morality and oy the gnashing of teeth over lying and sweet mother of decency how they went on about what a rotten role model Bill was.

Now let us put w to the same test, hold him to the same high GOP standards for role models for kids. What can they say about w that they'd like their own kids to emulate?

His stellar record of telling the truth? His manliness after nine eleven? His years of cocaine addiction and severe alcoholism? His awol status from the Texas Air National Guard? His many failed business dealings? His family's connection to the savings and loan rip offs? His family's connections to the bin Laden family?

Would they want their kids to speak like he speaks? Would they want their kids to go fight and die for his war? Do they want their kids to imitate his life?

What wonderful traits of w's do they want their children to adopt if they consider him such a great fucking role model.

I need to cut down on this coffee.

1. His Cold, Callous, Unfeeling Disregard of Others' Pain?
His sadism? His total corruption?

Can't think of a single redeeming feature--maybe if he were dead, I could say something good about him.

4. Bush shows the kids that it's OK to
talks like a tough guy, never change your mind about anything, not give a shit about other people's suffering, demand special treatment for yourself and your friends, refuse to take advice from people who know more than they do, make jokes at other peoples' expense, take credit for other people's accomplishments, and generally be a major league prick.

5. I think what you are forgetting is that the example of
Clinton tainted the Bush white house - Clinton taught us all that you could lie and not suffer any conesquence - a lesson the Bushies have taken to heart.

13. SERIOUSLY, those would be powerful anti drug ads.
Just show the man speaking off script, and say, "This is your brain after decades of cocaine abuse and alcoholism", drugs are bad, look what they did to the president.

14. I think about that a lot.
I was my son's age when Watergate happened and in part, as a result never have harbored much respect for authority figures and often have been insufferably rude to people in power.

Of course, Watergate pales by comparison to what's transpired over the last nearly 6 years.

Kids generally have really astute BS detectors and most know when they're being lied to.

They'll either disconnect entirely or revolt over time I reckon.

I wonder if you gave up coffee would you still be so prolific and funny? Betchya you would. :) Rant away.

20. Georgie is the worst role model there could be. He lies and cheats
had everything; worships money and power; could not get a damn about anyone other than himself; and is a moral and mental coward.
