(CNN) "Dungeon Captor: 'Part of My Life'"
This girl obviously has massive psychological trauma. The little girl who was abducted is buried underneath a labyrinth of coping mechanisms and denial. It sounds like she also has Stockholm Syndrome. This will take years to unravel. I hope she gets the care she deserves and needs.

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- An Austrian teenager who spent eight years in a dingy underground cell until her dramatic escape last week issued a statement Monday defending her captor as "part of my life" and insisting she didn't miss anything during her long ordeal.

In remarks read to reporters by a psychologist, 18-year-old Natascha Kampusch said she understood the "extreme curiosity" about what she endured and how she is faring since she bolted to freedom last Wednesday, but she pleaded with journalists: "Please leave me alone for a while."

The young woman who resurfaced last week after being held captive for more than eight years has the right to privacy, authorities said Sunday, adding that she is not under police supervision.

The decision to seclude herself -- and to avoid seeing people, including her parents -- was hers alone, police said.

1. Hell,
look at the world she walked in to eight years later. I'd probably want some alone time, too.

2. I don't think...
...being held captive in an underground room the size of a closet--while being intermittently raped by a middle-aged, degenerate kidnapper---constitutes "alone time" to an eight-year-old child.
