Every vet I've encountered is voting for Jim Webb.
I'm working for the Webb campaign here in the red state Hell otherwise known as Virginia, and I swear, I think George Felix Allen is in real trouble. When a relative unknown is outpolling an individual who was on everyone's short list of potential GOP presidential candidates in'08, the fertilizer may be preparing to enter the ventilation. I've been working tables at local flea markets, and literally every veteran I have met (and they are supposed to be Allen's natural constituency) has expressed their support for the Webb campaign. Aside from being one of the finest men I've ever met, Jim could also be the seat that hands control of the Senate back to the good guys.

2. Red State Hell? C'mon despite being to predominately conservative,
Virginia seems to elect a lot of Democratic Governors and Senators. Northern Virgina is usually blue and now even the outer suburbs are trending Democratic. Felix is too similar to *. Had * been successful, Allen would have been his heir. Katrina doomed Felix's chances. Webb is just finishing him off.

12. I live in NOVA, but travel downstate frequently.
I was born in Virginia, have lived here for most of my 55 years, and don't think "red state Hell" is too strong. You get south of Richmond, and in many enclaves, you might as well be in Mississippi (And obviously, I don't include C'ville, Newport News, VA Beach, or some of the college towns).

6. Virginia - state at "High-Risk" vulnerability to Election Fraud...
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 03:03 PM by tiptoe
Just a "heads up"...

Chart B - State-By-State Risk Assessment
Chart C - Mid-and High-Risk States That Allow No-Fault Absentee Voting
Chart A - Status of State Voting Systems

HIGH RISK States:
Arkansas <YES>
Delaware
District of Colombia
Florida <YES> -- 2006? 5/25/06: Nelson (D) 56% Harris (R) 26%
Georgia <YES> (Max Cleland "surprise" 12% reversal, 2002, in this HIGH RISK state)
Iowa <YES>
Indiana
Kansas <YES>
Kentucky
Louisiana
Maryland <YES> -- 2006? 4/18/06: Cardin (D) 45% Steele (R) 35%
New Jersey <YES> -- 2006? 6/15/06: Menendez (D) 43% Kean (R) 36%.
Pennsylvania -- 2006? 6/15/06: Santorum (R) 40% Casey (D) 49%

10. 8%
W went from leading by 1 point to supposedly winning Va. by 8. I don't buy it no way not 8%.

That is what Webb has to overcome.

11. Outstanding-I haven't volunteered yet but I am dropping by the office
today.

With our little girl and all...oh hell that is an excuse I just talked to one of the guys in DC (English accent) and told him that I will be working here in Richmond.

The office here is having an open house today. I may actually get to meet Webb there.
