Glenn Beck just said New Orleans mayor is mayor of chocolate town.
But of course he will get away with saying it. What a fucking loon.

1. No, there's going to be a judgement on that guy
I don't know how or when, I'm just sayin'. There's something really, really wrong with him. Even if he doesn't believe half of what he says, it's wrong of him to spout it.

4. Everytime I flip the channels, I have to stop and watch
like when you slow down to see the wreck on the side of the road. Yeah Beck needs some judgment up side his head, IMO.

5. Yeah, but Chocolate Town sounds more like MO-town.
Or Put-down-town. We know what you mean Becky-boy.
Just like Rush feigned innocence when he referred to Nagin as "Mayor Nay-ger."
Filthy racist bastards.

6. I am NOT in anyway defending that scumbag Glen Beck, but
Mayor Nagen said (when he didn't know he was being recorded) that New Orleans will be "chocolate town" again. So maybe Beck is just using Nagen's statement to make, God knows what kind of point.

7. That's what gets me, just because he hears someone else say it
doesn't make it right or justified to repeat. I wish Beck was just some RW nut, but he has a huge amount of radio listeners. I think he is the Rush of the 21st century.

11. Are you saying that the black mayor of NO shouldn't have said that
NO was a "Chocolate Town"? Why not?

10. Where did you get your quote?
I've never heard that one before. Jefferson died in 1826, which was before corporate lawyers began their effort to turn the corporation from a public service to profit-seeking operation. I am not going to make an accusation, because I really don't know, but I have a feeling that that quote my be apocryphal.

17. I got it from Thom Hartmann. He has done extensive research on
TJ. http://www.thomhartmann.com/presidents.shtml He wrote a book called "What Would Jefferson Do?". I highly recommend it. I learned from Thom that the one of the reasons for the Revolutionary War was the tea tax, but not for the reasons I learned in school. King George, who along with many other royals all over Europe owned stock in the East India Tea Company. They wanted their stock to increase so they thought up this scheme. Raise the tea tax on independently owned tea shops (at that time independent tea shops were on every corner), and ELIMINATE the tax for the East India Tea Company, putting all the other tea shops out of business. And we thought WalMart came up with that plan! I may have screwed up some of the exact details, but that is the gist of it.

If you haven't hear Thom's radio show, I highly recommend it. He is on 9-12 http://www.thomhartmann.com/

9. Chocolate Town by Ween
Couldn't taste the taste that I was tastin'
Couldn't hear the waste that I was makin'
Tired of the life I was facin'

Couldn't tell one from another
Couldn't hide a secret from my mother
Any other mother wouldn't bother

Makin' time breakin' ground
Sail brown bay to chocolate town

Got me on the porch I'm in the front row
Says "shit's for real man" like I don't know
Get your punk ass back to the dog show...

Makin' time breakin' ground
Sail brown bay to chocolate town

A new breath I feel the grip releasin'
Scraping my guts off of the ceiling
I've got that sunny bunny feeling

Makin' time breakin' ground
Sail brown bay to chocolate town
Makin' time breakin' ground
Greyhound bus to chocolate town...

13. From now on, it needs to be "CNN just said . . ."
Sorry, but you can't just hire someone who you know to be a first class racist and bigot, and claim that you don't endorse, subscribe, etc. to those views. CNN knew what they were getting, and no editorial disclaimer in the world is going to change that.

I caught a few minutes of him once. It amazed me that he could be on a (sort of) mainstream outlet.

16. Did he say this on his radio program or his CNN show?
In any event, I think some letters to CNN Headline News would be appropriate.
