Not to count our chickens...

Not to count our chickens, but... this is encouraging news. Of course, if it DOES come to pass, things are going to get very ugly. The Democratic leadership better be prepared to play hardball.

-------------------------

Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Chairman Charles Rangel and Chairman -- again -- John Dingell. Those titles will soon sound familiar.

Barring an unexpected and big event, Democrats will win control of the U.S. House of Representatives in November and conceivably the Senate, too. Whether it's a tsunami or just a powerful wave, the political dynamics are moving in that direction, or more accurately, against the Republicans and President George W. Bush.

Democratic insiders, who months ago thought their chances of winning a majority in the House were no better than even, and that the Senate was a lost cause, have become far more optimistic. Now, they say, winning the House is a lock, and the Senate is within reach.

1. I don't know about winning the senate
that seems unlikely to me.

2. I agree
But even winning the House would be huge. Unfortunately, I also think the result of forcing the GOP to share power could be a Constitutional crisis of some kind. I don't know what this White House is capable of. But I fear we will all find out next year.

I see a tsunami happening. What's best about this is that there is almost nothing the Repukes can do that won't smack them right back in the ass. :kick:

Novakula has called 25 new House seats. Another (unnamed) prominent Repuke "vote counter" (again, cited by Novakula) is calling it 26-30. CNN is calling a clear Dem House majority. Now, Bloomberg.

That's with today's information.

Question: Does anybody realistically think things are going to improve for ChimpCo and his rubberstamp Repuke Congress before November? I don't. I see things sliding further.

In that case, we could see upwards of fifty House seats (like in 1994 for the Repukes) and a clear majority in the Senate (seven or eight--no more than nine).

Yes, that many races could be in play. Yet not a single Dem seat is currently in serious jeopardy. Not one.

Dems have to hoist these guys on their own petard. Can't let this perfect storm pass without taking these guys down hard.

4. Yeah but the elephant in the room is the GOP controlled voting machines!!
Everyone is optomistic for November and I would be too, but for

the dreaded factor of "WHO COUNTS THE VOTES"... and unfortunately

as Rep. Peter King of N.Y. said - they do :(
