I predict that the economy will miraculously improve between now
and April.

How do I know that? Well, it's income tax time--and most people foolishly use their refunds as spending money, thus bolstering the economy predictably this time every year. But you-know-who will take credit for it. Brace yourselves.

1. I guess you haven't heard about the IRS delaying refunds this year?
They are holding up the refunds of EIC filers for suspected 'fraud'.

3. "foolishly" use their refunds as spending money?
For some people, it's not "foolish" to spend money on food, clothing or rent.

4. I don't think so...
And here's why - under the Bush administration, they tried sort of extra refund amount for the middle class that's really just part of your tax refund for next year. So if you got back an extra $100.00 then next year, if you were supposed to get back $300, you would only get back $200. Well, they were hoping people would go out and spend, but Bush had so fucked up the economy that people used them on bills or credit cards.

...the midterm elections will follow the dog days of summer.

BTW A tax return is spending money. It belongs to those who've overpaid their taxes.
