"I walked down to where Salvagio's used to be and just cried"
NOLA TV station replaying old news shows. A man in Slidell was recalling his experience. Salvagio's was a restaurant on Highway 11, and as Bennie Grunch would say - "ain't dere no more." One of my watering holes on highway 11 right on the water and after Katrina, it was gone as well, just fricking totally wiped right off the slab and into the gulf of mexico and god know's where. And Vera's beautiful Restaurant on Lake Pontchartrain overlooking the twin span from New Orleans and serving outstanding Seafood in a very comfortable atmosphere - "ain't dere no more."

I guess I shouldn't be watching this stuff.

4. I loved Vera's
In the oh-so-paranoid 60s we used to smoke a couple of bowls while driving across the Causeway and go to Vera's and spend every dollar we had on some great food.

Damn

6. Lay chilly, BOSS ... and take some comfort in the fact
that the bastards who stood by and watched a great American city drown will eventually be called to account.

7. It's obvious that the gov't isn't going to do anything...
to help bring these memories back to the way they were. FEMA, HS, * should all be ashamed for their lack of action in this national crisis.
