Sen. Frist Admits - He May Have Lied On His Medical License Renewal
Frist medical license renewal questioned
By NANCY ZUCKERBROD, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist acknowledged Tuesday that he may not have met all the requirements needed to keep his medical license active — even though he gave paperwork to Tennessee officials indicating that he had.

The state of Tennessee requires its licensed physicians to complete 40 hours of continuing medical education every two years. Frist, a heart-lung surgeon who is considering a 2008 presidential run, submitted a license renewal with the Tennessee Health Department stating he has fulfilled that requirement.

Responding Tuesday to repeated requests from The Associated Press, a Frist spokesman said the Republican senator may not have done his continuing education after all, and had contacted the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners to see if corrective steps were necessary.

"As a result of a change in Tennessee's regulations several years after Dr. Frist came to the Senate, he may be required to complete additional continuing medical education hours," spokesman Matt Lehigh said in a statement. "A representative of the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners has been contacted, and Dr. Frist will meet every requirement of the Board."

1. What penalty does one face in Tenn. for that kind of falsifying?

If you lie about your financial information whenever you apply for a loan, it's a felony. If you hold yourself out to be an attorney but you are not a licensed attorney, it's illegal. Does this gentleman face any consequences for making false representations about his professional qualifications?

50. The professional licensing law is very clear. You lie or otherwise
screwup the renewal, then you IMMEDIATELY lose your license until you take the appropriate steps to get relicensed - ususally starting from scratch as if you've never had one - like taking all the required tests, etc.

EIYAAR.

(Except of you're a repuke, of course...)

because he is a politician. the spoils are so far greater in politics that worrying about 40 hours of education is a minor annoyance

Could the time he spent with the fundie doctors during the whole Schiavo thing count as "medical education"? I'm sure he learned some things from them that you'd never learn in medical school.

28. LOL. Wonderful role model--funny you should mention that--LOL
Check out this book that Frist wrote:

Yes, that's right, the title is 'Good People Beget Good People, a geneology of the Frist family'

Okay, now compose yourself for this:

Roll Call, the Washington insiders’ newspaper published on Capitol Hill, recently reported that Jonathan Frist’s Facebook entry declared him a member of the “Jonathan Frist appreciation for ‘Waking Up White People’ Group”. It also mentioned a group where there were “No Jews allowed. Just kidding. No seriously”.

Here's a pic of dear Jonathan Frist, wearing confederate army uniform pants:

Yep. Frist must be a hell of a role model

.."overlook things" or commit "youthful indescretions"...You know,
whatever "phrase" is necessary to give the sacks of shit
their ten thousandth "free pass".

There's just no way in hell this guy should still have a license anyway.
That '40 hours every 2 years' is a goddamn joke, a MINIMAL
token GESTURE at the notion of keeping medical knowledge up-to-date.
And he didn't even do that. Then he LIED and said he did.
