Brownie: " Torn between telling truth, and relying on talking points" |
|
"I have to confess ... you want to protect the president when you're a political appointee, so you're torn between telling the absolute truth and relying on those talking points. To this day, that is my biggest regret."
- Former FEMA Director Michael Brown
Well Brownie, if you cannot tell the "absolute truth" to the American people, who Congress trusted you to serve, then maybe you shouldn't be a political appointee.
You serve the President, yes. But above all, you serve the American people. And if there comes a time when you think your loyalty to your boss prevents you from telling the "absolute truth" to the American people, then you need to step down from your position.

2. Unfortunately, this is the way all the WH sycophants think. |
|
Their first loyalty is to Bush and the GOP. America can go to Hell as far as they are concerned. How do we replace this mindset with true patriotism and service to one's country?

4. Its the LODS.... Lack of Definition Syndrome |
|
Trapped in a Level where not much substance is discussed, the peeps at this level are prone to think of Me and I.
Not as group to advance the Nation but as a group/individual to advance themselves. usually for minutiae reasons...
We need to address a shift in thinking...

5. Remember Bush said he wanted to usher in a new era of responsibility? |
|
When he was campaigning in 2000, one of his main talking points was that he wanted to usher in a new era of responsibility.
He used to always say that we lived in a culture that basically said "If it feels good, do it, and if you've got a problem, blame someone else."
He said that almost ad nauseum on the campaign trail.
