NBC Nightly News: Brian Williams BUSTS Bush on Iraq/Terrorism. |
|
NBC's Brian Williams interviewed Bush in New Orleans. Bush got all hot again and said, "The terrorists brought the fight to our shores, we didn't ask for this fight..."
Williams: "But they weren't IRAQI's."
Bush: "I know they weren't Iraqis...I don't think Saddam called up Al Queda and said, 'Attack America'...it's a part of the war on terrorism."
Have you ever seen a more doubletaking, bumbling joke of a pres?
By the way, what is WITH Bush's arms? It's like he's carrying a couple of invisible buckets or something.

on the set of the Cowboys?
Wayne told Dern that audiences would hate him for shooting Wayne. Dern responded by saying, "Yeah, but they'll sure love me in Berkeley."
I think John Wayne is one of the biggest Chickenhawk shits of all time.

we eagerly embraced Anderson Cooper when he did an objective report from NO. We embrace Brian Williams now that he's acting as a real reporter.
fyi - after 911, i remember one of the first newsreports from Brian Williams. He said something like Bush's status as President could no longer be questioned. Gone were all the fears that he could not handle an emergency. He basically said that everyone now felt that the 'cloud' of a potential stolen election in 2000 had been completely lifted. That newscast still bothers me.

Years ago I knew a guy who worked as a private investigator. He had done some investigations for a lawyer who was representing some sex offenders in a couple of cases that got a lot of publicity locally -- so we'd often see the alleged perps on the news. Anyhow, after working on a number of these investigations, this PI developed a theory: He observed that guys accused of sex offenses who held their arms a certain way almost always turned out to be guilty. Obviously this is completely unscientific, but he was usually right. Even later, we'd be watching TV and we'd see some guy accused of being a perv doing the perp walk, and my friend would say, "He did it; he's got the arms."
Well, anyhow, some 10 years later Bush gets his sorry self "elected" president, and I'm watching him on the news, and he's swaggering along doing the phony cowboy walk, holding his arms like he does, and it dawned on me that he's got "the arms," just like all those sex offenders. Not saying he's one, but he's got the perv-perp arms, for sure.

87. About Bush's tells... |
|
I was just thinking that he has a lot of tells. I remember him running for governor against Richards: he spoke coherently, in complete sentences that followed on one another (you know, like normal people talk). And he didn't stumble over words. And he didn't talk from the extreme front of his mouth.
He has done all of those things, constantly, since he started running for President in 1999. Some people say it's his attempt at having gravitas. Some people say it's the result of brain damage from a fall. I think it's just that he hasn't publicly said anything true in 7 years.
The talking in the extreme front of the mouth thing is the biggest one; I've found he does that in a very exaggerated way when he's saying something that he knows can be documented as false.

I don't understand how you can tell he's talking from the front of his mouth, or what talking from the front of your mouth would even be like. Can you explain a little? I'm not criticizing, just really curious.

131. It's a little hard to describe unless |
|
you sat through the same interminable speech workshops I did (I have a speech impediment, now thankfully quite mild and rarely noticeable)
When everyone talks they have a focus of resonance; it is the place that the sound is actually being produced. There is also a point of articulation; that is the place where the given consonant or vowel at any given second is being shaped. For most people, the point of resonance is in the throat and the point of articulation ranges from the throat to the lips depending on the consonant or vowel being produced. When * talks the way I'm talking about, he almost puckers his lips, which creates a space between his lips and his teeth. In that space, he does the resonance and articulation that many people do in their mouth and throat. All his vowels are shaped by the space between his teeth and his lips, and with the exception of a few consonants, his jaw does not move (this lip-focused speaking is another thing that makes him look chimplike).

69. See you have to establish rules |
|
I have had five cats over the years and unfortunately am down to one now - but my sweet boy Cooper who passed July 2005 had three rules - 1 don't get on me as in when I'm sleeping because he always did that - 2 no drooling - because he always did that when he was happy and 3 no worrying because he was the biggest worry-er
Now Eve his sister has rule one and rule two rule but three doesn't apply - we go over them every night before bed - and every morning I wake up to her sleeping practically on my head.
You see rules are VERY important!!!!! LOL

Everyone should keep it uppermost in mind, regardless of political persuasion. Thank you for putting it out there! It's only the salvation of our planet it addresses, that's all! No biggie!
VERY strategically cool of you to put it in your sig line, too, because every time you post, there's this wee reminder down at the bottom that will get seen much more frequently than if you just posted it by itself every so often. Repeat, repeat, repeat, you know, "to kind of catapult the propaganda," 'eh?

That's why I put all those TOLL FREE numbers to the Capitol Hill switchboard in my sig line, so every time I post, they'll be there if anyone needs them. Because I do rattle on here ad nauseam :D - and as far as I know, those numbers still work.

18. Missed it but good for Brian Williams |
|
He showed that he was more than a pretty boy anchor man during hurricane Katrina. It takes guts to press the President of the United States on issues he'd rather ignore but then it took guts for Williams to spend the night in the Superdome the way he did and report to the world on conditions from the ground.

20. It was pretty good. Hopefully it'll open a few more eyes ... |

... to what an absolute disgrace bush has been.
The funniest was when Williams said something about bush's patrician upbringing ... and bush (kind of) angrily lashed out that he didn't know who had said that, and that that person didn't know him. It was rather revealing. The fuckwad doesn't have a humble bone in his body, and he looked kind of surprised that Williams was tougher on him than what he is used to.
I also enjoyed Williams' question about bush's relationship with his father, and Iraq issues. Teh chimp hated that question. Just hated it.

offices are burning to NBC. They'll huff and puff and threaten to blow the house down. And NO MORE INTERVIEWS FOR YOU, EITHER, naughty network!!!
GOOD! He needs to be worked over a little bit. No, a LOT bit. NO MORE FREE RIDES!!! NO MORE KID GLOVES!!! I hope this is only the first of many. Unless they let Tim Russert do the next one - with his kneepads surgically attached.
Except... maybe the media really does smell the blood in the water. In that case, they're all gonna turn and get fierce and unfriendly. It'll be the new vogue. The new fad for the White House Press Corps. Rediscovering their jobs.

143. Brian Williams didn't ask the hard |
|
questions I would have asked, like why did Bush insist for so long that Saddam Hussein had WMDs when the evidence was strong that there were non. Why didn't Bush take on a leadership role for the immediate relief of New Orleans flooding. Why is Bush fighting the use of illegal wiretapping. Why was Bush silent concerning the bombing going on in Lebanon. How does Bush accomplish changing the political atmosphere in the Mideast. Etc etc etc... Williams wasted time asking frivolous questions, re his book reading, father son relationship; questions that allowed Bush to dance around. Williams didn't even come near skimming the surface of 'hard questions. No doubt in my mind that Bush only allowed scripted questions to be asked. Certainly wasn't an in depth interview. Garbage in and out.

Every time I think that Bush could not appear more stupid and ignorant than he already has I discover he has once again surpassed himself in the moron department.
That this ignorant, inarticulate, arrogant buffoon came close enough in not one but two elections to steal is a disgrace to this nation.
Kudos to Brian Williams. Bush hated being hauled out to the Gulf Coast and Williams caught him off guard showing his true colors.
Are you proud of your president now, America?

At the beginning of the interview Williams quoted a guy who said when Katrina was happening Bush was watching a different channel. Bush reacted angrily. "He doesn't know me" or something to that effect.
Then for the last question Williams asked Bush if he watched TV. "I watched a ball game." ROFL!

WILLIAMS: Still not watching television, huh?
BUSH: I watched a good baseball game.

115. I had the misfortune to see Brian on Scarborogh's Nazi Country |
|
I stopped for about 30 seconds on last night's show, just in time to catch Joe ask Brian if the President had been humbled by the hurricane, or did Brian think the decisive, confident and strong President Bush still existed? Joe said with all the problems of the last 12 months or so that our confident President has had to go through, is Bush still a manly leader?
(Never mind that people running through the streets of New York for their lives happened nearly 5 years ago, not to mention the defense department in flames, and that is hardly a sign of good leadership, Joe, you right wing hack)
Brian (at least I think it was Brian, many of these blow-dried Ken dolls all look the same to me) replyed that Bush might have been humbled by the storm, but that really he (Brian) had not seen a change in the decider President--Our glorious leader still makes decisions quickly and then moves on. So really Bush is still a stud.
It was only 30 or so seconds, but it was disgusting whoring, STILL!

He's really getting shrill these days, isn't he? Yelling out his answers, his face all distorted and his body language disturbing. He looks on the verge of cracking up - a very dangerous situation for us and the world.
Anyway, what struck me in those weird rambling shouted responses was something he said when Williams asked why he didn't ask Americans to sacrifice after 9/11 and, in the midst of his ridiculous statement about taxes, he said something about the flights being grounded after 9/11.
Huh? Since when did an inconvenience become a 'sacrifice'? Of all of his stupid unscripted answers this one struck me as the most ridiculous. And I was pissed that Williams allowed that to pass unchallenged.

145. Financial sacrifices by Us were the only ones |
|
mentioned by Bush. Nothing about the US military sacrifice of life, let alone the lives of Iraqis. The bastard should really be pinned down and defend himself about his lying invadion of Iraq. The little pissante is treated like the simpleton he is. On these one to one interviews he is treated like the family retard afraid his feeling might get hurt.

126. "They attacked us even before I thought of removing Saddam from power." |

That was probably the weirdest thing he said. He just told what he was thinking before the attack.

Several sources have indicated the Iraq invasion was at the top of the Bush/neocon to-do list. From day ONE.
He can't change his story now...he's not smart enough to, for one. He's "catapulted" the bullshit so long and so "vociferously" that it's a veritable minefield out there; he steps in it whenever he moves (his lips).

147. Another lie, A defensive one at that. |

"They attacked us even before I thought of removing Saddam from power". Williams didn't even ask that question. Think about those words. If you have kids you'll know what I mean. Example: This morning Mrs.Jones next door told you someone threw a rock breaking her kitchen window. Kid comes running home from school, first thing out of his mouth "Mom I didn't break Mrs. Jones' window. Bush knows the word has been out for a long time that he was seriously thinking of attacking Iraq.
