O' Hunter S. Thompson, Where Art Thou?
It was a hot, muggy day full of hot debates today at work. Facing my normal daunting daily arguments with my increasingly conservative workmates, I began to prepare. Being an avid Hunter S. Thompson fan, I began to ask myself how I would compose myself in simpleton arguments like these. Would I have a beer before? Shoot some guns? Read the news before jumping in? Or would I just walk in with intellectual guns a' blazin while I sent my opponents packing in some kind of jibberish furry.

But I walk in educated and eloquent and ready to tear some conservative ass apart, all in the spirit of Hunter S. Thompson. I hate to sound cliche, but the connection that HST made while alive will probaly be everlasting to me.

I miss HST's works already. I own all of his books and have compiled most of his published articles, so I am familiar with his thought processes. We need a man like Hunter S. Thompson. Someone who is unscathed by the mainstream media, and who is true to the cause without having more than one face. In my opinion, ther is no one out there who has the skill that Thomspson had to connect with the masses in not only times of political discourse, but the dull years that lead up to those momentous occasions.

Is there an writer, poet, playwright or any other literary master today that really connects like Thompson to you guys? If so, they sure can't write Gonzo.

Well take care guys.

1. A fun thing to do is read Thompson's coverage of presidental

campaigns and then read Theodore White's making of the President book for the election.

2. K&R for a man who is sorely missed.
I miss HST all the time. His straight forward no bullshit way of speaking got the point across better then any of our politicians ever could.

3. KKKarl Rove ordered him dead because he knew something that
...BushCo could not allow to be general knowledge. So, we may never know.
