So, this verse from the Qur'an sums everything up. |
|
I've been studying the Qur'an to see what the fuss is about and to fight with the religous folk about their misconceptions of Islam.
Coming across this made me wonder:
"What smart man came up with the idea to reinstate Judaism in the middle east?"
Enjoy:
SURAH V VERSE 51
O YOU WHO BELIEVE! DO NOT TAKE THE JEWS AND THE CHRISTIANS AND FRIENDS; THEY ARE FRIENDS OF EACH OTHER; AND WHOEVER IS AMONGST YOU TAKES THEM AS A FRIEND; THEN SURELY HE IS ONE OF THEM; SURELY ALLAH DOESN'T GUIDE AGAINST THE UNJUST PEOPLE.
----------------------------
I'm not religious, but damn, this verse alone should be enough to curb the Zionist movement.
Not to be offensive, but I seriously hate religion.

1. Except you have to consider the context of the time that it was written |

if you are actually studying the Qu'ran. The verse isn't about Muslims hating Jews and Christians. It is warning Muslims not to form alliances with Jews and Christians against "heathens." It's telling them to stand against them on their own.
It's basically a tribal law.
I am not terribly fond of people using old books as a means of feeding millenia old hatred(or even a relatively young hatred of religion) but if you are going to study, then please study it in context.
That is all.
