Katrina and Insurance.
So the insurance companies say that flooding is not hurricane related. There's alot of money involved here. A storm surge, caused by the hurricane, 28 feet high, is not "hurricane -related"? I personally hate insurance companies. They have an army of people, not to help you, but to prove that your claim is invalid. Fuck them. Everyomne would be better off putting their mnoey in a sock under their pillow than having "insurance"

2. Yer preachin' to the choir
I had an adjuster come last Friday to take more photos. Why the HELL have insurance if they will not pay out when the time comes?

4. I made this point last year
and I still believe it to be true.
The stock market is propped up with moneys invested(and insurance companies invest largely in the market).
My take is that the federal government won't force the insurance companies to pay for the hurricane damage because the losses were so great and pulling all of the money out of the market would literally cause the market to tumble.
It's that fragile.
I truly believe that this is the reason also that they didn't really want to do accurate body counts and why many people were allow to rot in the water in the streets--waiting to be eaten by alligators or float out to sea. Missing persons don't have to pay out premiums for several years...as opposed to accidental deaths that are forced to pay double idemnity.
It's always about the money.
