1. Really - folk should be disgusted with the mercans who didn't
elect enough Dems to give them any power. If you judge them on things they have no control over, like going to war (lied to) or loosing election (you cannot say they didn't spend and travel), well then, GOP has succeeded in separating the two of you.

2. I judge them on responses to questions following
the media's exposure of Bush's lies. In the summer of 2004 Jean Carnahan spoke at a local synagogue and took questions. I asked her if she still stood by her Iraq vote given that there were no WMDs and such. Her answer was yes, she still would have voted the same way given what she knew in 2004.

SPINELESS.

12. One wonders why people who hate Democrats so much
clog a Democratic forum with their presence....and then one realizes the reason is pretty obvious.

Is there something you're not telling us?

29. Maybe it's because he has to spend all his time defending Democrats.
And if you do a search of my name you will find plenty of Republican bashing, I just know how to multitask. :)

28. Yes - I don't think we should be trying to run down are guys. They are
all we have. They fight every day. We just don't hear it. Think of Harry Reid today. Refusing to ever close his war room or fire Manley. :woohoo:

is that for some of the Kool Kidz here, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton are unacceptable, but world class loon Noam Chomsky and mindless neanderthal Ron Paul are just aces....

3. The Dems need a STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES.
THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHERE THEY STAND.

like it or not , the repukes have defined us.

4. So refuse to let them. Dems do stand for things like equality, choice,
shared risk health care, defence, schools, science & technology, honesty, democracy, etc...

Why can we not keep that in our heads when we see them being beaten around with very little power. They have done quite a bit with very little in the way of power.

Don't fall for it. Noonan said the Liberal media was dead. They always try and kill off parts of what makes their opposition strong. They attack and victimize. And you have to keep that in mind. Yes - dems look bad. They look weak. And the knee-jerk reaction is to say "do something". But their hands are tied until they get more power.

Send the disgust to where it belongs. American voters.

Your post proves it. They said Democrats don't have a plan and you believed them. That's your problem, not the Democratic Party.

5. It sucks!
OK it merely inhales vigorously, I couldn't believe the ineptness of the last couple of campaigns. These people are allegedly professionals! They fail to represent our issues, they are increasingly irrelevant. I am tired of hearing why they can't do something, I would like to hear why they can do something for a change. Conyers is one of the very few positives I see.

8. It's the "not as corrupt party" as well as the "not as bad" party.
As far as "standing for something", having principles and ideals, that depends on who's paying for them and how well they think they can sell them to populace.

What we have, in reality, is one party with two wings. The Capitalist/Nationalist Party.

17. You might want to look at the national polls, not a poll of 100 DUers
Every national poll I have seen indicates that democrats have an edge over republicans. Obviously, we need strong candidates and a lot of work from people like us. Democrats did really, really well in 2005. We can do well in 2006 too.

13. I'll let ya know after I see what they do with ScAlito. There's absolutely
NO REASON that man should be confirmed by Dems.

There are a FEW Dems who I respect:

Conyers

Boxer

The Black Caucus

Kennedy

Durbin

ROBERT BYRD!

Harry Reid

Jim McDermott

SO, I'll let ya know how I feel about them after I see what they do with ScAlito. They may just surprise me. It looks like they may be heading for a filibuster. I truly hope so.

15. There are a lot of dems out there who do have the 'courage of their
convictions'. But they are being overshadowed, treated like the family member we all have but are too ashamed to talk about, by the DLC. And the DLC is damn determined to force another DINO down our throats.

We can't afford these Quislings calling the tune for out party anymore.

24. I'll give it a seven for the following reasons:
1. Still better than the Republicans
2. John Conyers, Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, Russ Feingold
3. We have started to get back off the mat. We did just enough to prevent them from destroying social
security. We also did very well in the 2005 elections.
4. The blogosphere is the seed of a Democratic renaissance.
5. Hope for the future, no matter how small.

I didn't give it a higher rating for the following reasons:

1. We haven't yet shed the tired old consultants peddling their snake oil.
2. Whatever we do, it seems like the Republicans are always three steps ahead of us.
3. The traditional media just plain hates us, and licks Republican balls.
4. Voting insecurity, and what I consider to be the inadequecy of the Democratic response.
5. We are not in power.

26. What disgusts me is the MEDIA systematically locking out...
... Democratic voices and figures while allowing the Bush boy's handlers, Congressional whores and de facto K Street legislators free rein to convey their message.

I am also furious that the Democrats are depicted as divided and unorganized when in fact the GOP has had the very same problem for years! That's right -- how often have you heard about northeastern small government Rebublicans furious about the spendthrift Bush boy or the disproportionate influence of proto-Confederates and Bible-thumpers?

Believe me, there's as much -- if not now MORE -- division within the GOP. The problem is perception management by Republican-friendly broadcasters and newspapers -- and yes, that includes the New York Times and Washington Post.

27. I'm finding the results of this poll very disturbing.
I'm really surprised so many here are giving it a '10' (lowest possible) rating. I know things could be a lot better but are they REALLY that bad? Just didn't expect this, that's all.

37. Hillary Clinton is an embarasment
She skeeves me out-I used to think Harry Reid was a turd also like 90% of the rest of them but he has shown some spine. What i hate even more are the idiots around here who blindly say support so and so because he/she/it is a dem. And the mods who delete posts because the party line is not being towed can shove it.
