MSNBC's never-ending "Can the President turn his numbers around" story |
|
Is there anything, seriously, anything, more annoying than the media's (and especially MSNBC's) constant attempts to fluff the President as he spirals deeper and deeper down the bunny hole of Rampant Unpopularity?
At this moment, MSNBC's "story" is "White House Takes Charge: President Bush Plans To Reshape Image For Midterm Elections." There's some nasty warmongering Republican on, defending the President, comparing Sadaam Hussein to Hitler, and screaming "Cut and run! Cut and run!" over and over.
WTF WTF WTF?? When will the media just admit that George Bush is ugly and nobody likes him?

:D Hi, Ix!!! :D
It's such a freaking NON-STORY. Bush has been in a death spiral since the summer of '05 when Hurricane Cindy hit Crawford and America woke up.
He's NEVER GOING TO BOUNCE BACK, alright, you Bush-licking media asshats!! NEVER!! London terror plot disrupted and guess what... Bush ratings plunged EVEN LOWER. Even if there was a terrorist attack, we'd just blame him for not stopping it, don't you MORANS get that??
They make me sick. I want to hurt my television.

9. the real story: The UNpopular 'wartime' chimp |
|
I got rid of cable because I got sick of screaming at the television, or just staring at it with my jaw hanging open. Supposedly, these are 'educated' people, but you'd never guess there was a thought in their head by the way they speak.
You're right. He will never bounce back. The story, then, is that Bush is an abject failure (big surprise there, eh?), but do you think we'll hear der chimpenfurher referred to as the 'unpopular wartime president'? I wouldn't put money on it.
Liberal media my ass.

15. Used to be, when a President became wildly unpopular... |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 02:24 PM by VolcanoJen
... the media would jump up on that horse and beat it to death.
See: Jimmy Carter See: Gerald Ford See: Richard Nixon
Then ol' Bill Clinton came along. Mr. Popularity and Most Likely To Suceed. Prom King. Superstar. ROCK star. It was almost too much to take.
And that's when the media lost the plot. Fat Drug Addict radio gasbags started accusing the media of being liberal (they've always accused them of being liberal, but it reached fever pitch in the Clinton years), so they just threw out the playbook and started over. News organizations morphed into Cheerleaders for the Opposition.
And when the Opposition became the Majority, they never stopped leading the cheers.
It's really shameful, and more than a little nauseating.

George Bush is the Great Pumpkin of MSNBC. If only they believe hard enough and are really and truly sincere about it, the Great Bushkin will rise out of his pumpkin patch and reclaim his popularity.
No good. We got a rock.

6. Let Me Make A Suggestion - Send Your Post To Them |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 02:10 PM by ThomWV
No kidding, just cut and paste what you just said into an E-Mail to the network. Tell them you just posted this and that a good number of people commented that they agree with you. Tell them you really don't like to watch their programming as much as you used to.
Sooner or later they'll get the hint.

Tell them that you don't like watching their programming as much as you used to. You're only watching 6 hours a day instead of the 9 you used to.
I have a better suggestion. JUST TURN THEM OFF! Maybe, just maybe, if enough people did that, their ratings would suffer, they would not get exposure from people talking about them daily, including people online.
Or, you can use the Howard Stern approach. He always said..."It doesn't matter to me whether my listeners agree or disagree, so long as they're tuning in, I'm happy, and won't change a thing."

Bubble-ass trumps bubble-brain (Rita Cosby, anyone?) any day! :D
Which sets up the Dodgers to win 6-5 for the third game in a row.

involves waking up to the reality of the man besides horrific results and all those worse than any schmuck who was ever in that office ever, a "news" organization who is wondering if the mushy ignorant they misinform or don't reach will be gamed back will redeem that process is a strange entity indeed. Even a good PR firm would throw up their hands, but the media is pretending to be "news" and cannot explain their own role and failure in facing reality. And if its a game to them then their team is the power "winners" not the nation. And winning is everything, rules don't count. Fans don't count. The nation doesn't count and certainly not reality. And if their team is not doing so hot these loyal gamers are then stuck going down stupidly with the "team".
And I hope they do.
