24. Not great. The FAA's new imposed "contract" takes effect on Sunday.

Pay cuts, dress codes, they have the ability to cancel your vacation time whenever they wish (even the same day it's scheduled to begin), etc.


ATC as a second career isn't really a possibility. It's a full-time job and it doesn't accept new hires older than 32.

As a first career for younger people, it's gonna suck for the next few years, but I inagine the pendulum will eventually swing the other way.

...and the pay ain't bad compared to being unemployed.

Actually, a few of the rookies where I work are looking at quitting and going to work as controllers for the DOD. With the pay cuts and working conditions, it might be a slightly better place to work for people on the low end of the pay scale.

Why are half the Malloy threads from people complaining about all the Malloy threads?

Why are a good portion of the rest of them from people who don't even like Malloy?

Many of us are very upset about losing a voice that we considered to be the heart of liberal radio, the core of AAR's lineup. We all know that some of you don't agree. The question is, what is this perversity in your characters that makes you have to tell us all about how you don't like Malloy?

Why can't you recognize that Malloy's firing is not a good thing for any of us, no matter what you think of him?

There are many times when it's better to not tell everybody what you're thinking. I think this might be a good time to think before you post. You know that us Malloy fans are not going to be happy about your opinions. Many of your posts are coming off like trolling.

It's a very sad day for many people who love this guy. Please allow us vent a little.

Most likely it comes from over zealous truthseekers who have been disparaging anyone who is not a Malloy fan as not a true progressive, liberal or whatever.

What else is new in DU, a hot button issue happens, half the board goes absolutely apeshit, recriminations are issued, people tucker out and move on to the next outrage.
