17. The man all but begged for people to NOT vote for bush. There was |
|
plenty of passion in THAT request. Too bad people were too blinded by Nader, the MSM and bush himself to go with the guy they had known and trusted for 20 yesrs. Go figure.

He's giving the perspective that the Bushies can't stand. All they can do is say he's crazy, because the truth is on our side.

He might not want to run in 2008, but he HAS to. He is a changed man, he 'fits' in his skin so to speak.
We need Gore. I supported Clark in '04, and if Gore doesn't run will do so again. However, mho, Gore/Clark would be a formidable team, both of them say what we need to hear not what we want to hear.
This speech was extremely important, I am appalled (but not surprised) that the corporate media didn't give it the coverage it deserved.

:eyes:
I voted for him in 2000 AND supported him with my money and time, I would do so again.
He is a fantastic choice but in 2000 he didn't display his talents to his advantage. Yes he was fighting the corporate media bias but he also allowed the right wing to define him (he NEVER said he invented the internet, THAT IS a RNC talking point) He had an opportunity to shoot that and other nonsensical talking points down in the debates but didn't, I think because of bad advice from his campaign management.
He is a much more comfortable speaker than he was in 2000. He is much more comfortable because he isn't listening to some of the inept people who were running his campaign. He is himself and it shows, aka fits in his skin.
Look at how he responded to the vicious attacks from * and his ilk after his speech last week. He slammed them right back, as he probably wanted to at the debate when dimson brought up "inventing the internet" canard.
Watch his speeches from 1999/2000 and compare them to the ones he has been giving the last couple years. Heck, compare the speeches from early in the campaign to the last month or so of the 2000 campaign when he seemed to listen to his own instincts. You'll see the difference.
It galled me then, it still does, what the RNC did to him and how the democrats sat back and allowed it to happen because they feared being painted as "angry" or "mean" or "smart" in comparison to poor Dubya. :p
It is not a RNC talking point to observe that Gore has learned from his past. He survived having a presidency STOLEN from him with immense grace. He is more comfortable, fights back when attacked AND says what so many other democrats don't want to say. This, coupled with his experience and depth of knowledge, is why he is the best candidate for 2008 and the best man to lead us out of this mess.

I plan to volunteer to work on Gore's presidential campaign. After last Monday's speech there's no doubt in mind about who the real leader of the opposition is.
In another post I compared my reaction to Gore's speech to that scene in "My Cousin Vinny" where the kid with the court appointed attorney, after seeing his friend's cousin cross examine a witness in the courtroom, stands up and says "I want that guy!"

is that Gore is positioned to TAKE the 2008 nomination with a groundswell of support.
I hope he is given the opportunity.

He is saying things hardly any leader is saying, AND he is saying it with an eloquence which nobody else is matching.
Is there a Draft Gore movement or are people waiting until after the '06 elections?
I've been watching all his speeches since the 2000 campaign began. This speech is one of the best I've heard and extremely important for the country to hear (too bad the idiotic corporate media covered it so stupidly).
