Flood Air America's email and phone lines. Rehire Mike Malloy |
|
Here is a call to action, DU Truthseekers. Jam Air America's email and phone lines with the call to reconsider their decision to fire Mike Malloy. His voice is too important for them to dump. I am sending my email to them now!

They keep Mark Riley and Jerry Springer while firing Mike Malloy. It's insane.

4. Have you got an email addy? |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-31-06 06:44 AM by foreigncorrespondent
If so, please post. I would be glad to write a short but sweet and very suportive of Mike email to them.
On edit: I found a contact address for this: comments@airamericaradio.com so I have sent them an email:
To whom it may concern,
I am writing tonight to show support for Mike Malloy in the hopes that the powers that be will reconsider their axing of his radio program from the AAR line up.
Due to the time difference between the U.S. and Australia, I couldn't always listen to Mike due to work commitments. But I can more than guarantee you, I was a regular listener on the days I wasn't working.
For any truly progressive person the world over Mike was like a breath of fresh air in a world controlled by war mongers and fascists.
Every subject Mike would broach on his show, was every subject the progressives of the world were talking about. He was the voice of the countless progressive faces that would tune in on a daily basis.
I remember the first time I ever tuned into a Mike Malloy show. It was prior to him joining the line up at AAR. I can remember thinking how wonderful it was to hear someone living in the U.S. having the gonads to speak out loud things many of us were too afraid to speak of. From that moment on, I was a Mike fan.
When it was announced that he would be joining the AAR line up that was the day I wished we could get it in Australia. Nevertheless, it was the day the AAR URL was bookmarked on my computer, so I could catch the show. It was Mike who brought this Aussie to your radio station. It was Mike who lead this Aussie to get others both in America and Australia to tune into your broadcasts. And sadly, it is because Mike will no longer be a part of the AAR line up, that this Aussie and countless others will remove AAR from their radios and computers. And sadly if it was a financial reason for doing this, then I truly believe AAR has made the wrong choice in this regard.
Please reconsider the axing Mike's show, and give us back our breath of fresh air.
Thank you,
(name removed) Mike fan Melbourne/Australia

7. Mike was fired yesterday. But his audience is sending a strong |
|
clear message to AAR that they want Mike on the air.

11. According to Malloy's website, AAR said it was financial reasons. |
|
I tend not to believe this. AAR is supposed to be doing good. I think other motives were involved in the management's decision. This move may actually hurt Air America in the long run.

15. Only if they hired some |
|
Remember, these are the folks who could barely keep their flagship open because they didn't pay the rent on time or they lost the check or it bounced or whatever the feeble excuse was. The people who started AAR are not competent business folk and I haven't heard anything about any changes on that level, just stupid personnel changes and this isn't the first boneheaded choice they've made in that arena.

20. I don't think he should go back to AAR, but find a better |
|
place, since hey, would you go back to a place that pulled that crap on you?
His voice needs to be heard, without censorship or left gatekeepers!

maybe Malloy is better off without AAR. Maybe he will do better on satellite radio. I would then definately pay for that.

22. Didn't work for Marc Maron, won't work for Iron Mike. |
|
AAR doesn't care about what the listeners want. I only got Sirius to hear AAR, but they just chucked us Sirius listeners aside. I sent emails on behalf of Marc Maron, nada. Sent emails begging them to drop Jerry Springer, nunca.
