repub meme: 'Impeachment of bush would tear the country apart' |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-31-06 07:21 AM by Philosoraptor
A cspan caller who's voice was full of fear talked about what might happen if the Dems gained seats this November. He said he feared that bush would be investigated and impeached and it would be very bad for the nation.
Bad for the nation? What about Clinton's trumped up impeachment? Bad for the nation? The fucking neo cons are totally disasterous for the nation, a little impeachment could hardly hurt us.
I seriously doubt anyone will investigate bush in any timely way or stop him from doing what he's doing till the day he leaves office.
Tear the country apart? Look around you idiot.

1. Nothing Would Be Better For The Nation |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-31-06 06:44 AM by ThomWV
What they really mean is that it would be bad for Repbulicans as a Party, but it would indeed be good for the nation, very good indeed.
Remember, it is always better to be rid of a turd.

3. Unfortunately, it will never happen.. |
|
Time will not permit it. There are too many other critical issues that need to be addressed first. They will not have time for such a "trivial" matter as impeachment...

It shouldn't take any longer than the war in Iraq, and we had plenty of time for that.

The punishment for conviction of impeachment is removal from office. If Bush (or any office holder) has left his post, then impeachment is no longer an option.
On the topic of this thread: I am reminded of Nixon's pledge, after his election in 1968, of "bringing us together again". He did. By the time 1974 rolled around and he left the White House, we all wanted him out. That at least is one thing that can be said for Tricky Dick; he kept his word.

I think we need a swift kick in the butt about now. Bunches of cowardly, sniverling robots, worrying about the bogeyman. A dose of reality and little conflict might snap them out of their fear-induced stupor. The Professor

22. Dubya is not the country. Dubya is an employee. Impeachment is a legal |
|
proceeding to remove a bad employee from the government. Firing a bad employee is simply good business sense. America was here before Dubya, and it will be here way past Dubya. Firing Dubya will not harm this country. Firing Dubya will just inflame the whackjobs and bobbleheads in the "librul" media. I don't listen to them anyways, so what's the problem?
