The armed forces enlistment age just got raised from 35 to 40.

So the next time one of these Gung-Ho for this war Neo-Con shitheads blathers on endlessly about "spreading democracy", and "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" direct them straight to the nearest recruitment depot to sign up to go, and tell them they are out of excuses.

8. There needs to be a waiver process

I was ranting at some guy on the radio a few days ago. My local AAR station had a guest, some wanna be journalist who is investigating the "questionable circumstances" surrounding John Murtha's award of a Purple Heart. I called in to ask when he served. Of course the answer was no. When I asked why, he told me--in a rather condescending tone--he didn't have to because there was no draft when he turned 18. I snapped and just started yelling at him that until he trotted his chickenhawk little as down to the recruiter's office he had no right to question anyone's service. I was so pissed by that time my voice was breaking--I must've really sounded terrible--like the typical frothing at the mouth shrill moonbat they portray us. He told me he couldn't join now because he's 47. That's when I really lost it and told him, "Then shut the fuck up" and they dumped my call.


The whole point of that story is guys like that should be able to join up.

A raise of five years in the enlistment age just gives them another five years to dodge fighting the war they so fervently want. Should have raised the age by 10 years.
