Dubai Ports World To Be Bought By Halliburton?
Dubai Ports World To Be Bought By Halliburton?
by pessimist

Now we know why King George was so adamant that the Dubai Ports World deal had to get through the Congress: Unka Dickie's stock needs an increase in value http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/57607/bushs_motivation_made_clear_halliburton.html.

George Bush tried, some months back, to transfer the American Ports to Dubai ports, in spite of terrorist ties, and sympathies. Dubai Ports World announced Wednesday, August 30, 2006 it would "transfer fully the U.S. operations…to a United States entity." PBS News Hour reporter Norm Ornstein, said that DP World was considering selling its U.S. operations to Halliburton.

1. I am shocked.....and.....awed, no, really, LOL
Once the bush cabal couldn't override the outrage over the ports being run by a foreign government (the Dubai government owns Dubai Ports) and the agreement was to sell their "share" to an American company, well, I just figured Halliburton would be first in line so, if this is true, it is NO surprise to me. Actually, if Halliburton isn't the "purchaser", I really would be shocked and awed.

2. Is this another blow to American Labor?
As we know, the longshore unions have traditionally been strong. Someone should pass legislation that bars companies with a track record for fleecing the American public from controlling the ports.

3. If this is true, they really have no shame and the Dems should have a
field day with this.

4. If someone has some time they really want to kill they can check the
posts flying around here at that time. This is EXACTLY what many of us said would happen.

7. YGBFKM.
I'd like to know when this little plan was hatched. Of course the Thugs and their minions will love it because we'll now have an American company running the show. ...and isn't that what we on the fascist Left wanted anyway? :eyes:
