Military To Pay Millions To Promote "Positive" Iraq News Coverage...
U.S. military leaders in Baghdad have put out for bid a two-year, $20 million public relations contract that calls for extensive monitoring of U.S. and Middle Eastern media in an effort to promote more positive coverage of news from Iraq.

The contract calls for assembling a database of selected news stories and assessing their tone as part of a program to provide "public relations products" that would improve coverage of the military command's performance, according to a statement of work attached to the proposal.

Expect heavy spin leading up to mid-term elections, current gas price decreases will not be enough to allow GOP to keep the house and/or senate from going to Dems in November.

1. Just like how the nazis attached their political spies and ...
Nazi party cheerleaders to military units during WW II, to generate the party line propaganda and to rat out anyone who didn't play ball.

The neocons get more fascist every day and that's why Rummy was trying to deflect the fascist image, by calling other people names. They KNOW who the real fascists are and now they know that people are seeing through the lies and the spin.

2. umm.. they know November isn't getting further away while GOP tanks
Rove instucts Bush to simply jump back on the Iraq war on terror schtick, the Pentagon invents favorable Iraq news events, Fox news etc. has their talking points as the clock winds down.

Currently the GOP has little to run on, enter Pentagon Iraq success stories for Tucker Carlson...
