Lou Dobbs did not tell the truth in his report on Canadian election. |
|
I feel I must say something about Lou Dobbs' report last night. He did a thing about Canada's election which was very dishonest. He said, and I quote, "Canadians go to the polls Monday after an election campaign dominated by the supposed influence of the United States on Canada's economy, politics and cultural life." There is nothing true in that statement. The only time the U.S. has been mentioned was in connection to the war on Iraq and the fact that Harper the Conservative was for it and Bush is hoping he'll win. During this campaign I have heard nobody mention either the economy or cultural life in connection with the United States. He then showed clips from the film Canadian Bacon and TV show South Park, which was meant to point out that American criticism of Canada was just comedic and benign. He then asked Mike Duffy, a CTV host, who is nothing but a shill for Harper, what Canadians make of it. Duffy made the insulting statement that "Canadians take it as a matter of pride that we get mentioned in American popular culture." This may seem minor, but Dobbs' dishonest report bugs me.:)

He is far from "fair and balanced". Most all of his reporting is extremely slanted. Plus is most times it's slanted in my direction.

He also reported that Canada lost the soft wood lumber dispute. In his opinion, We need to just stop objecting and pay the tariffs like good little serf. Mike Duffy = hot air 'bull-loon'. This may seem minor, but all of Dobbs' dishonest reports bugs me.
