Jon Elliott from San Diego. The AAR web site has him in the time slot.
I think he's subbed in the past. But he's no Mike. I suspect we shouldn't attack him, but he's not the premium talk show host that Mike is.

1. Hey, he is "The Most Dangerous Liberal In America" |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 11:07 AM by Fighting Irish
Or at least that's what he claims: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2027915&mesg_id=2027915http://ltradio.blogspot.com/2006/09/whats-next-for-malloy-and-air-america_01.htmlFrom what I hear, it's for two weeks, maybe more. Interesting that AAR has finally updated their site. Elliot added, Maron finally dropped. No Malloy on the schedule, but his blog is still up. On his last entry here, there are a lot of comments about his firing: http://www.airamerica.com/mikemalloy/node/209#comment

3. Jon Elliott is VERY BORING !! He subbed for Majority Report |
|
during the summer and he was awful, IMHO. Peter Werbe would be far better-- much more in touch with progressive issues. Elliott is just another bombastic Ed Schultz type -- OK but there are FAR TOO MANY of them already. You don't replace a fabulously humorous, intelligent, creative host with a blah guy. Very very sad.

4. I'm Guessing Malloy Couldn't Attract Advertisers |
|
My theory is that Malloy couldn't attract advertisers. Air America was just getting to the point where companies like Ford were willing to advertise on it. I'm guessing they are trying to purge the most bitter hosts for that reason.

6. How are you supposed to attract advertisers at that time slot? |
|
The worst time slot you can have are the closing hours. At that time slot it's not about attracting new audience it's about keeping the ones that are already there.
