Here is my letter to the CEOs of AAR. I decided to share it, because I don't really like the idea of "moving on" and letting go of this. Mike was an important voice in our country, and more than missing him, I think we, and free speech, will suffer from his absence.
However, I am confident he will be back.

Dear Doug, Jon, Jim and Rob...
You have a flabbergasted crowd out here, by the firing of Mike Malloy. Mike in our view, was the soul, the voice, the reason to listen to Air America. He was uncompromising, moving, literate. Listening to him was like a lesson in integrity.
Why did you fire him? How attractive do you think your programming is, now that he is gone? Think about it. The airwaves are packed with hosts that are proud to be in the center, right wing hosts, wishy washy hosts. There was, to my knowledge, only one Mike Malloy. He spoke our frustration, he gave words to our sense of despair and outrage.
Without him, AAR, is just another set of stations with some good hosts and some bad hosts. In my region, I get a better signal out of KGO, and now, I get a better talk show host on KGO (Bernie Ward).
Why would you want to sabotage your stations, is a mystery to me. Or maybe, as a tribute to Mike, you did mean to turn him into a Media martyr, a popular hero, and a future superstar on another set of stations. We are eagerly awaiting his return. Anywhere. In droves...!
Mike Malloy was a reminder of what our country stood for, should be, and what we would like our future to look like. We care more about that, than the ratings on Air America, or its future for that matter.
