Gas prices could go back to $2
Step right up now folks and Get yer 'lection season petrol right here, step right up!

“We'll be closer to $2 than $3 come Thanksgiving." At least that’s what Fred Rozell, gasoline analyst at the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) told USA Today this week, about gas prices. AAA reported a nationwide average of $2.84 Tuesday, the lowest price since April 20. Rozell says less driving at the end of summer will contribute to lower demand for gasoline. Analyst Mark Gilman with The Benchmark Co. told CNN/Money that prices of around $2 a gallon by Thanksgiving were certainly possible........."

And from Bloomberg, this......

Gasoline in U.S. May Fall to $2.50 on Slow Hurricane Season

Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Gasoline prices across the U.S. are likely to fall this month as demand from motorists slows and the threat of supply disruptions from hurricanes diminishes.

1. Thanksgiving is after the elections, so don't count on cheap
holiday gas, although they may keep it cheap until Christmas shopping is over with.

7. As much as I smell a rat, I see an opportunity to lock in heating oil
prices for the season before they again increase. The question is exactly when to lock in the rate if the price keeps going down.

8. Yeah, maybe so......
I'm convinced this has been in the offing for awhile on evidence that the major bank card companies have all pretty much eliminated the 5% cashback on gas purchases over the last few weeks.

9. I don't hear any talk of heating oil dropping.
I think it's a ploy to get people's minds off of gasoline prices, period.

They don't care if we all freeze to death in the dark.
