3. :) I think it comes down to one question... |
|
How do you deal with a coersive killer without kiling them. Gandhi said the most important thing was not to be coerced yourself by the threat of death, the loss of your own life being insignificant in the bigger picture. Do you agree?

I was chatting with another guy, and I thought came to me that the big fight we all face is to *have ideas* instead of letting ideas have us. I was thinking that as soon as we get to the point where we can let ideas come and go without thinking that any of them are perfect or complete, than we can let them go through us, let them go. And that is the main thing, that people "learn another way". But we must find ways to break the yoke of totalistic ideologies like fundamentalism and fascism...We must find a way to open minds somehow, because these ideas prevent them from learning any other way at all. I think this is an important focus for a peace movement.

I also think we should move beyond the "march" as a movement and into serious research efforts. Why can't we study what leads people to effective conflict resolution without violence? Why can't we develope peace technology? War technology exists...might there by a coralary, an "atom bomb of peace" which supports love and life just like the traditional atom bomb renders death?
