Hey I've noticed there's no new Iraq "milestone" before NOV elections, |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 11:05 AM by Mayberry Machiavelli
or is there?
No "first democratic elections in Iraq history" complete with purple fingers
No "new constitution"
No "Saddam pulled out of a spider hole"
etc.
Did they just tire of this and run out of ideas (shrub at the ribbon cutting for the first Walmart megacenter in Baghdad, how do you like that one)?
Or did they realize that even their base, and the "mainstream media", don't respond well to these anymore?
Or were they just planning to kangaroo court Hussein and hang him on Pay Per View and call it good?
(On Edit: It seemed like there was some great milestone every few to several months like this in Iraq previously, for the media to pimp, and for Hardball pundits to say how great shrub's big gamble in Iraq had paid off and how he should be on Mt. Rushmore etc.)

1. Yes, hang Saddam on Pay Per View. |
|
Make him wear a purple hood. Smells like democracy...smells like victory! Or was that napalm in the morning?

Or maybe the above poster is correct -- they're going to hang Saddam. Of course, it wouldn't do to annouce the outcome of the trial ahead of time.

4. Just wait, the October Surprise is on it's way. |
|
And gas prices are edging down. By Nov. they should be around $2. Of course after the election they're going to zoom back up even higher. I'll bet we're going to see $4+ by next year.

5. Ya but there was the neverending series of IRAQ milestones before. |
|
You know, to keep people from deciding the whole thing was a disastrous crock.
Did they conclude that the American people have now, in fact, decided that it is a disastrous crock?

7. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good question. |
|
I think they're sitting on the next "milestone" to get the maximum impact. Announcing it too soon would risk it fading too quickly from the collective memory of the sheeple.

6. oh, i'm sure they'll think of something |
|
my guess is the iraqi 'government' will 'ask' the us to 'leave' which will be trumpeted as a great 'mission accomplished' feat, but the fine print will reveal the leaving will be done in a couple years.
