Just got back from Feingold listening
session.Ask me anything he answered most of the issues of the day.He went out of his way to say he thinks George Bush broke the law and he must atone for his thinking of being above the law. Some of the other issues were Medicare,Abramoff,Google, the war.Let me know if you'd like to know his views on any of those issues.

13. Exactly what did he say about 'no filibuster' -
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 03:55 PM by IndyOp
He did not think there were enough votes to filibuster or just that he, personally, would not vote to filibuster?

:grr:

On Edit: We should ALL continue to call Feingold and every other senator to tell them to FILIBUSTER. 888-818-6641 and 888-355-3588.

ALSO - I drove 2.5 hours yesterday to drop off letter & petition at my red state Democratic Party Senator's office. I did not press the staffer to 'reveal' what she knew about Bayh's vote but she was very happy to see me and had a big grin on her face when I was repeating 'filibuster' over and over again. So - with our without Senator Feingold we keep going. And even Senator Feingold might change his mind.

Lots more information:

20. Thanks for the input from Feingold's perspective --
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 03:58 PM by IndyOp
I would remind everyone reading this post that just yesterday Durbin was talking about how very passionately AGAINST Alito many Senate Dems were *and* that he thought a filibuster WAS possible.

8. If you mean elections
Every vote must have a paper trail. If you mean senate votes, there are at least 20 different bills floating around the senate on campaign reform and something will be done.If it's meaningful he doubts it.That the only way to reform the congress is through voting the bums out.

10. Did he say impeachment and liar?
Because if he didn't, I don't care about anything else he has to say. Those are the only two words that are important in the entire world. Well, except spine and balls, if he said something about Democrats and spines and balls, that would be important too.

12. This was important
because he says he is totally against impeachment because it harms the country, but the founding fathers did say high crimes and misdemeanors,And the president broke the law and continues to break the law like he is above the law. Then this is the very thing the fathers had in mind when the wrote impeachment into law.He says he would be in favor of impeachment if the hearings next week show this to be the case.

25. So he's not pushing for impeachment
He's waiting for evidence.

I'm sure Russ was great, he usually is. But, as with the rest of the Senators, he doesn't run off at the mouth without evidence and that was really my point.

27. Yes he's for a single payer
system and promised if we elect a democratic congress in the 1st year we would have one.He said the current system is a wreck and is hurting our economy and costing us jobs because the reason our companies can't compete is because of healthcare costs.

29. Did he change his view?
How did what he say today fit in with what he said last year? Just trying to get clear on whether he supports single payer, but is leaving flexibility; or whether he just supports flexibility for states to do what they want.

30. Flexibility for the states
was also part of the second plan he went over where the states pick up some of the cost with the federal gov paying the remainder of the cost.I think he put coverage at 95% under this plan.
