"Never forget 9/11!".....fuck that! |
|
I'm sorry but all 9/11 has brought us and the world is war and death. When people tell me "never forget" the term becomes loaded with the connotation of "fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them over here."
I want to forget that that gruesome attack ever happened, and that nearly 3,000 of my fellow countrymen (and visitors to America) weren't murdered by Al Qaida. On 9/11/06, I will not watch any cable networks that day, because it will just be one big grief-orgy, with Bush running around to exploit it.

showed for us after that. Never forget how the bu$h regime used 9/11 for political gain and to start an illegal war while stripping us of our civil liberties.
That is what I tell anyone who tells me to never forget 9/11

7. They are already here and they are supported by the gop |
|
Insane "christians" led by radical christian clerics doing their best to undermine the constitution. They are the number one domestic enemy of our constitution, and they are more of a threat then Muslims, because the "christians" are amongst us right now, and they have the support of the majority political party in this country.
What I'll never forget: - The 1969 Arkansas-Texas Football Game - The 1964 Phillies season

29. I don't know what you mean |
|
If you are suggesting throwing the "christians" to the Lions, the comparison fails. Today's "christians" in America aren't meek and mild and defenseless. They are a powerful force and their number one goal is to neuter the constitution because they cannot stand American citizens they hate because of their religious beliefs to be granted constitutional liberties. Its really quite simple, if you value the constitution and the liberties it affords our citizens then you have to keep a wary eye out for the motivations and actions and political chicanery of those who call themselves "christians." They would choose a theocracy. I suggest they move to Iran.

|
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 08:34 PM by MrPrax
is supposed to invoke a inference to the Holocaust...9/11 was like the Holocaust.
Ergo Bush and his pals like the 'fighting Nazis and fascists' line; they get to pretend they doing 'noble things' by infering another time, another enemy and another war.
By November, Bush and his minions will be re-writing Churchill's old scripts..."we'll fight them on the beaches, we'll fight them in Wal-Mart's parking lots, we'll fight them at the gas pumps,..." It interesting because another American meta-narrative claims that the GOP defeated communism...you figure if that was 'solid' history, Bush would be invoking it now.
Apparently if you are seen to fighting Nazis, you can't be accused of being one.

We should celebrate Sept. 17, Constitution Day, instead. In fact, it's a travesty that we barely know of it.

|
A grief-orgy indeed. There will be a lot of maudlin sentimentality and lies all day long. Barf. Fortunately I will be at work and until late too so I can safely ignore the orgy.
I am angry about it myself because it didn't have to happen. The Bush administration, if they had been at all competent, should have stopped it. I can't quite bring myself to say they let it happen but something smells, that's for sure.
