ROVE MUST GO (By Robert Novak???)
ROVE MUST GO
Robert Novak
Jan 21, 2006

A national survey by pollster Mark Penn shows two-to-one sentiment that not only Rep. Tom DeLay but also top presidential adviser Karl Rove should resign from office.

Interviews of 1,003 voters last Nov. 5-16, conducted for the Democratic Leadership Council, showed 59 percent felt Rove should quit while 25 percent said he should not. Comparable figures for DeLay were 63 percent and 24 percent. While DeLay faces trial in Texas after being indicted in a campaign finance controversy, Rove has been investigated but not indicted in the CIA leak case.

Penn's poll showed deteriorating Republican support for both Rove and DeLay. GOP votes favored DeLay's resignation, 45 percent to 40 percent, while 35 percent said Rove should go and 43 percent that he should stay.

4. Not only do the NEOCONS eat their young, but they will.......
abandon their leaders when the going gets ROUGH. Well, I think the ROUGH is going to get a lot ROUGHER before 'the system' has flushed out ALL the NEOCON political and corporate corruption.

11. This makes sense
If he 'resigns' he would still be able to advise the white house and the republicans, wouldn't he? So, better for them to resign now than to have to resign after he is indicted. This saves face and lessens damage. I can't see that it makes any difference whether he is in the white house, or out. He is still going to orchestrate all their dirty tricks.

15. Same here
I think I'd rather see an indictment along with a conviction and jail time. The only thing is that could take a long time. On the other hand, if chubby has to do jail time, the chimp will no longer be in position to grant a pardon if after 2008.

21. Seeing the way
the Repugs operate, "stepping down" could even be a way of making him a martyr, much like they have done with DeLay.

19. Novak probably knows what's in store for Rove, since he probably ratted
him out to save his own skin. Remember Novak was the only one who published the article, yet he seemed to get off scott free, no info on whether he testified before the grand jury. No demand from Special Prosecutor that he turn over his sources.

Remember also how he came to walk off the set of Crossfire! It was after a remark by James Carville (whose wife worked in the OSP and may be privy to some interesting stuff re Feith, et al) implying that he may have ratted people out, that he got angry. I think that's what Carville was saying.

He must have given up his sources pretty early as he's never been threatened the way the others have.

Love to see them all turning on each other. This is the second story about their attacking each other today.

The other, when Repub. Bill Bennet (not THE BB I'm told) in Ohio said that Ney should resign if indicted, Ney said 'Bennett should look in the mirror, glass houses break easily' or words to that effect.

This is going to be so much fun. What happened to the 'disciplined, united front the Republicans always maintained'?

They exist because they can, not because they should.
