4. Cutie Couric?!? Bush's personal ball-washer?!?
Nope, don't think so. Maybe I'll catch the highlights as DUers see fit to share, but that's it for now.

6. I suppose I'l check it out, just to see if it's as awful as I think it
will be.

It really breaks my heart. CBS was the only channel I watched for the evening news -- I don't have cable or satellite. I really sort of liked Bob Schieffer, he seemed relatively honest as network news whores go. Not sure what I'll do now -- flip around the Big 3 or ignore them altogether?

I suppose it won't matter a whole lot, I've already long depended on the internet to get the real news anyway. But I know I'll miss getting the semi-useful broadcast news that came from CBS & Scheiffer -- Ms. Couric makes me absolutely nauseous.

8. I watched less and less after they canned Dan Rather.
I haven't watched the CBS news at all for several weeks. I'm certainly not tuning in for her.

14. I couldn't stand her on the Today show.
I stopped watching that years ago. It used to be halfway decent, but I think I stopped not long after 9-11 when their coverage got crappy.

17. I saw part of a network newscast today and was wondering

What time do these things come on I think this one was 5:30. Who is home by then? Is there audience retries? From the little I saw of it it felt like I had skimmed the headlines on the front page of a newspaper.

21. It was easy for me to vote "No," as I had my cable service for TV
disconnected over a month ago! (still using them for broadband and phone, but cable service, at nearly $100 a month, was something I could give up).

26. The On;y Reason I Ever Watched CBS Was Because Of Rather & Murrow,
who were once there. Kinda stupid to watch for something (integrity) that isn't there any more. When is the Dan Rather CBS tribute anyway?

28. Yes. (and I'm sorry to see the responses on this thread).
I'll give her an honest, open-minded try - and then make my decision. I haven't seen her as a nightly news anchor yet, so she deserves that. If I don't like it once I've seen it I'll turn it off then. But, I'll make an informed, unbiased decision.

Sorry to see such close-mindedness on this site!

36. there was a time not too long ago...
where I would make a point to watch something like this, just to guffaw and throw soft things at my tv screen and howl and laugh at the idiot in thief and his cheerleaders in the media.

but I don't find it funny anymore at all.
I'm fucking scared out of my mind.
