If Democracy in Iraq is So Important, Why Did Bush go with the 5th String? |
|
A Twenty-five year old organizing the Iraqi stock market and the interim constitution being written by a pre-law student. It would appear that Bush wasn’t all that serious about achieving a democratic Iraq. Shame he didn’t tell the 2,500 causalities that he was just farting around.

(Coalition Provisional Authority) to be siphoned off to persons and parts unknown, presumably individuals and bank accounts friendly to the Republican Party.
This siphoning, which has already happened, was performed by the actual COMPETENT operatives while the CPA was ostensibly being run by these college students. What a freaking joke.
Not only that, but my understanding is the current ruling is that the Iraq CPA cannot be investigated for fraud/waste/abuse and profiteering since it supposedly was NOT a part of the U.S. government even though funded by taxpayer dollars. (on edit: at least that is the position being taken by the Bush administration, as long as they can get away with it. And they obviously have no interest in the thing being investigated, for obvious reasons.)
Amazing to think that Republicans like to complain about some mythical welfare queen poaching foodstamps, or penny ante fraud by some Katrina victims, while their heroes make off with BILLIONS in completely unaccounted for Iraqi CPA money and have college students supposedly "minding the store". The grownups in charge, indeed. Not to even mention the hundreds of billions wasted there that ARE accounted for.
This should be brought up to Republicans whenever possible.
