2. Nah. It was bound to happen. The guy had an obvious death wish.
The cosmic significanc of his demise is zero.

5. Your opinion might wash if he were unconnected, Mister.
Steve left behind a widow and two babies.

7. Besides the fact that he had a young family.
:eyes:

I hardly call that having "zero cosmic significance."

8. His young family has absolutely no effect on electoral outcomes
in the U.S., or elsewhere. That's what I mean by "cosmic significance." And I assume he left them well provided for, in any case.

14. Oh, is that how we now rate whether or not someone's life/death
is important??? If so, count me the hell out. I refuse to give up my humanity.

15. I was responding to the OP.
In the broader sense, I don't believe that any of our lives or deaths have much effect on the cosmos. But that's just me.

4. kilmed filming a special: got a stingray barb shot into his heart
Wow.

Crikey.... He was gonzo, but seemed to really care about all the creatures he worked with. He was a fascinating fellow, with a very entertaining show. Much better than the old "Wild Kingdom".

Rest in Peace, Steve, Rest in Peace.

9. Ouch! Sorry,...
...pardon me while I go weep for Princess Di.

Anyone here ever see TO DIE FOR?

Brilliant Buck Henry script, solid ( and then some) direction by Gus Van Sant, near perfect casting...

TV celebrity & deeply felt emotions don't go together for me. I end up making jokes. Maybe not funny jokes, probably not funny jokes...

Combining Celebrity death, revelation-style prophecy & current political realities seemed funny to me.

It still does. What's wrong with me?

I guess one thing wrong with me is I don't watch much TV...
