An observation about vehicles with "W" stickers
For some time now I have noticed something, motor vehicles that appear to be driven erratically and dangerously more often than not have a W sticker on them. For a while I just thought that my dislike of * was the cause of what may be termed "selective observation". So I decided to consciously observe and mentally note occurrences of this phenomenon. Sure enough, after doing this for about four months I can honestly report that whenever a driver cuts someone off, jumps a lane, runs a light, or engages in other foul driving behavior, at least half the time he is proudly displaying a W on his SUV or pick-up truck.

I post this today because an incident occurred that just irritated me enough to share it with you. I was going for my daily walk, and it was raining steadily. I was about to cross an intersection, the WALK sign had been lit, and there was no traffic except for one full size truck approaching the intersection. I double-checked the WALK sign and proceeded to begin crossing. The driver of the truck pulls up to the intersection, passes the stop line by about half a truck length, flicks his cigarette out the window in my direction, and completely blocks the pedestrian crossing. I proceed to walk around the back of his truck and sure enough, a big W'04 sticker...is it just me or have others noticed this as well. It seems to be an arrogance, or more accurately a reflection of their own self hatred, that makes them aggressive, even dangerous drivers.

And if you have to be a freeper troll driver reading this post, FUCK YOU!

1. I've noticed the same thing
Very mean people behind those wheels! Drive slowly when you're behind them, and if you try to pass them, they speed up, and if you do get around them, they ride your ass, then they pass you and cut you off so you have to slam on the brakes so you don't get in an accident - and this happened to me TWICE in the same day, with 2 different W sticker drivers. Amazing.

11. Dumb-ass rednecks down here....
They do the same thing as you've described and they show their stupidity driving big gas guzzling trucks that that cost more than their homes with big stupid 6 foot tall tires. Besides a Bush/Cheney '04 sticker they also have the Calvin peeing on something sticker too. They can barely afford the trucks as most are too stupid to work or keep a steady paying job and most of the idiots that have them in my neighborhood eventually get them repossessed.

5. In my area, I find that people with the "Support the Troops" magnets are
by far the slowest drivers on the planet. They act like they own the road and don't care how much time they take to make a simple decision, like turning left or right. I swear, they'll go to turn off the road and practically stop right in front of you half way through their turn. Must be they hand those magnets out for free to people who are willing to drive so slow for the purpose of making you squawk at those things on the backs of their vehicles as you peer through your windshield.

If I had more time tonight, I'd love to talk about some of the instances where I've gotten into it with tailgaters. LOL

What I was talking about before was people practically stopping in the middle of the road, starting a turn, and then stopping again halfway through it and leaving the rear half of their vehicle still out in the main lane of traffic. Totally annoying!

I was treated to a new ribbon today
SUV (of course) and on the back they have the obligatory yellow chinese support our troops sticker, a pink one for breast cancer and then right in the middle - Go Huskers! :eyes:

So just to recap, support the troops, find a cure and go team. Just make you want to SMACK them.

I live in Ga., about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. MOST people here have W stickers on their cars, and MOST will run you off the damn road if they have the chance. I don't think it has much to do with them supporting W. I think they're just agressive, arrogant, and ignorant drivers!

13. actually, yes...I've noticed this too.
They drive like teenagers.

One time I made a right-hand turn into the right lane of a three-lane road. The driver on the opposite side of the intersection had a green turn arrow indicating he could a take a left turn on to the same road I was turning on to.

Not only did he not turn into the left lane, but barreled his Lincoln straight across into the right lane (against state law), and nearly right into me.

The driver, driving along side of me, rolled down his window and started screaming at me.

Apparently he somehow thought that the green arrow meant he could take as much road as he wanted.

I rolled down my window and pitched a driver's manual right through his open passenger window (I've made a habit of carrying spares so I can hand them out). He flinched wildly, pulled in front of me, slammed on his brakes and I casually cruised around him while he pulled over. I guess he thought I was going to 'brawl' with him, or that this was some kind of car accident.

It did not escape me that he had a 'Bush-Cheney '04' sticker on his rear window.

And yes, I do see it all the time, but I wasn't sure whether it was 'self-propagating perspective' or not... now I'm pretty sure it's not.

46. Ooh I sort of like that idea...don't know if I
could/would do it though. My window got shot out on Halloween. Could've been just pranking kids, but none of my friends' cars got hit. But then again, none of my friends have all the stickers I do.

Today I saw a truck with Texas A&M Aggies stickers all over. One of them looked really old, but it had been "anointed" too. It read

Texas A&M
"Leaders in A cult "

Took me about half a minute to figure out it used to read "Leaders in Agriculture!"

I mean this guy wasn't just a little close..the dickhead might as well have been sitting in my back seat. At the first opportunity I pulled over and let the P.O.S. by. I can, with a high degree of certainty, tell you that the idiot slashing through traffic at an insane speed, whips by me with some sort of repuke sticker on the back.

On the other hand, if someone is being courteous, and staying out of peoples way(moving over to let people merge, slowing down to allow someone to merge\come out) if they have a bumper sticker at all, it is invariably has a Democratic/progressive message on it.
I drive pretty much every day in this hell hole, and I've noticed this since dimson "won" the first time.

2. Both people were behind me to begin with, so don't know their

3. Both incidences were in a school lane where impatience & disregard for safety are especially egregious.

The first is when a giant white SUV keeps tailgaiting & trying to pass when I had dropped my daughter off in a timely manner. They had soccer stickers on the back with their kid's names emblazoned.

The second is when a giant olive drab SUV seems to be the worst
impatient, tailgating driver on a cell phone & when they pass me in a burst of fury they had these white back windshield stickers with the three crosses of Jesus' crucifiction. I have encountered them numerous times & it always is a lesson in dangerous driving because they think they own the road.

Most of the people driving W-stickered cars down here are the old grannies and pawpaws that are too decrepit to bend over and peel it off--they've aged a lot in six years, I guess.

I never see people my age (40ish) driving vehicles with W stickers here. It's always the old blue-haired mawmaws or sugar daddies in their 1980 model Cadillacs or Lincolns. And I can't stand them, because they drive 20 miles UNDER the speed limit in the left lane. Old Senile Fuckers.

53. Here in Silicon valley the 'W' stickers are FEW, and always on either
a HUGE SUV, or a true beater - mobile. I have only experienced 2 'W' sticker a-holes. One was a guy who stayed in the 'through' lane on Foothill Expressway until 50 or so feet from the El Monte turn-off to Hwy 280. He was driving an Excursion, and slowed down until all those behind him were also going 5mph (as are all of us in the 280 queue) and aggressively cut in front of the car ahead of me. We had been in that lane for 5 minutes or so, just waiting our turn. He shoved himself in to such a degree that the car he was trying to get in front of was forced into the bike lane. He just kept honking and honking. A TRUE A-Hole.

The second was a beater that ran into a telephone pole 4 blocks from my house.

62. Here's my observation of these drivers:
In my neck of the woods, they are the slowest & most inattentive drivers. You know the type, they're either clueless behind the wheel or have their cell phones surgically attached to their ears.

I've also noticed that you'll never see them driving a smaller/economical vehicle. It's always a large SUV, large pickup, or minivan. I've always kind of considered these vehicles a danger on the highway because of their huge size, and the fact that most of them can't brake, handle, or accelerate as well as even your average sedan.

63. I noticed the same, however
I live in an area where big vehicles and W stickers are both very common. Also, I bet I drive like an asshole to people who drive W sticker cars.....just yesterday I let several cars merge onto the crowded highway in front of me and was just ready to let one last one in when I saw the "I support President Bush and our Brave Troops" sticker on the back. I hit the gas. I hate those stickers worse than the plain old W stickers because they insinuate that hating Bush is the same as hating the troops. I have a W sticker with the red circle/slash over it on my car so maybe they think we are rude drivers. :)
