Gore's words now echo Naders
Something interesting I found:

From (http://www.thenation.com/) and (http://www.commondreams.org/views/063000-104.htm):

""They have no constituency at the grassroots. They're hollow, fossilized parties that happen to hurl millions of dollars at each other, mostly on thirty-second TV ads."

From Gore:

http://reddit.com/info/f9y9/comments

"Al Gore: US politics obsessed with 30-second TV ads, ""The person who has the most money to run the most ads usually wins""

Now that gore is no longer in establishment politics, I think he's becoming less afraid to speak his mind on the establishment as a whole. Sort of Nader-esque.

1. Get behind a Draft Gore movement.
That's exactly the quality that makes him a desirable candidate.

2. Lots of politicians say that
I specifically remember Kerry saying GOTV doesn't mean Go On T.V. Too much money in politics is also why he sponsored Clean Campaign Legislation with Paul Wellstone ten years ago. I also don't see Al Gore saying anything about hollow fossilized parties. Nader doesn't do anything but complain, he's the fossil. It's time for doers, not whiners.

4. Nader got his way in 2000--his goal was to defeat the
Democrats.

Too bad he didn't get a cabinet position for his efforts.

5. Katherine Harris and Choicepoint actually defeated the Democrats
Considering that Gore won in 2000.

7. Why don't you guys just resurrect some of the DU threads from 2001
and post them again instead of re-creating the whole old fight from scratch?

13. And so?
There's a cazillion organizations out there that do what Nader professes to do. Nobody would even notice if he and his organizations were gone. Gore, on the other hand, I grieve every day at what we're missing because we don't have him in office. Kerry too. Nader? pssht, who gives a shit.

I also don't feel the need to shout obscenities at my t.v. when he's on either.
