Air America must get involved with stopping "Road to 9/11" from airing
Edited on Mon Sep-04-06 11:07 PM by Quixote1818
In order to stop the "Road to 9/11" from airing in a week, Air America will have to get involved and urge every listener to contact ABC. The effort from Daily KOS and a few here on DU will not be nearly enough to get ABC concerned.

When the right wing stopped the "Reagan's" show, they did it because Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Reagan, and all the other, nut-case right wing radio personality's urged their callers 24/7 to call and email CBS or who ever was going to air the show. They would bring up the subject every five minutes!!!! They were relentless!

Perhaps if Will Pitt or someone here can organize Air America to get behind the effort? Otherwise we don't have a chance in hell to stop it.

Also, the worst thing we can do is draw attention to it and not stop it. Either we go all out and make sure it stooped or we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

2. NO ! Let them air it. We'll have ammo to provide a rebuttal
and it will be devastating. Over the web like those masks on V...for Vendetta. Word of mouth (over the internet) is a devastating indictment of M$M. Let them keep stepping in the burning do do on their own doorstep.

3. "You either believe in freedom of speech for everybody, or you...
...don't believe in freedom of speech" - Noam Chomsky.

Supressing information is a tactic of the Right. We on the Left are charged with allowing the flow of all information, and the obligation of debunking the lies.

10. Can't believe no-one has responded to this reply
That's so well summed up (never mind the Chomsky quote, which also nails it). Smartest thing I've seen on DU in a while.

4. ABC is a rain drop in the lake.
Clinton wasn't glued to his chair for seven minutes while the stunned Secret Service looked on, Clinton didn't Invade an innocent country. Clinton didn't borrow twice as much as 42 other presidents combined and bankrupt the country, Clinton didn't try to sell our ports to Bin Laden's buddies and Clinton was one of the most popular presidents ever.

The only people who will watch this drivel is the kin monkeys who have the Kool Aid in their hands just waiting for bush to propose a toast.

Sixteen percent of the country still doesn't know who Rove is yet!!! This will blow over like a Florida thunderstorm and all that will be left is egg on ABC's face.

Don't give it a thought. Americans can't wait for Halloween this year.

anybody with an IQ over 40.

ABC is about to step into a big bucket of poo.

15. If nothing, why the up roar?
I'm obviously out of the loop, how ia ABC stepping into a bucket of poo, are they blaming Democrats for 9/11? I've seen and read all the things that say we could have had osama back in the 90s, and maybe we could have, who knows for sure. I don't buy into all the conspiracy theories that our government allowed, or aided in the 9/11 attacks. I don't believe it was Clinton's fault anymore than bush's fault. If anyone failed, it was the intelligence agencies by not relaying info, or by not taking the threats serious enough. I also think if Clinton or bush had taken osama out before 9/11, they would have been given political hell, for it. I'm not saying I'm in favor of a pre-emptive strike on Iran or North Korea, but if bush did, people would be calling for his head on a platter, and if either of those countries decide to hit us or our allies, people Will call for his head for not doing anything. The situation is no different than 9/11, Clinton or bush would have, and are being blamed anyway.

9. Nope. Not giving in to censorship.
They are entitled to their stupidity. CBS' caving in on the Reagan docudrama over RW howler monkeys' threats was morally repugnant. I don't want to be those people.

Here's what I would rather see: One of Bill Clinton's advisors on to debate the movie's premises with the filmmaker. I believe Sandy Berger and Richard Clarke would tear him a new asshole.

12. Count me out
You'll never get many liberals or Lefties to go along with an effort to pressure a network to censor a movie.
