Lieberman marches alone as former allies surround Lamont!!!

http://www.connpost.com/news/ci_4286512#

HARTFORD U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman continues to go it alone.
While prominent Connecticut Democrats surrounded U.S. Senate candidate Ned Lamont at an annual Labor Day parade Monday in Newtown, the three-term incumbent marched several blocks behind with a group of campaign volunteers, a gap that symbolized his split with the party stalwarts who once supported him.

Lieberman, the Democrats' nominee for vice president just six years ago, has launched an independent campaign in an attempt to save his Senate seat after losing to Lamont in last month's primary.

"I'm not about partisan politics," Lieberman said. "I have experience, I have seniority. Lamont is inexperienced. He's partisan."

..snip

(US Representative) John Larson has compared Lieberman to former Boston Red Sox player Johnny Damon, whose switch to the rival New York Yankees upset Boston fans. But just as Red Sox fans stayed loyal to their team, true Democrats stayed loyal to their party despite Lieberman's absence, Larson said.

..snip

Joe, it is time to give it up and throw your support behind Ned Lamont!

2. "Former allies" are loyal to the chosen party candidate, that's why
Unlike Lieberman, they won't try to cut their party's throat, nor are they willing to go so blatantly against the will of the voters.

6. Why does Lieberman not respect the voters?
His actions are akin to someone stealing an election. Lieberman is showing disregard for the voice of the people in open elections.

He seems to feel that he knows best and what he knows is that he wants a job - er - that he will be a better senator. This seems so classically republican in its authoritarianism. "I know best so shut up and do it."

Why can't he just respect the will of the people? Is that not what elections are for? Since when can politicians simply reject the voice of the people that they work for?

10. Where's the picture of Lamont? Shouldn't there be one of those
attached to that article? When are they going to stop making this race about Lieberman and his antics and make it about Lamont and what he has to offer?

Even bad press keeps the Lieberman candidacy alive and it might even garner him some sympathy votes. Lamont needs to shake it up and get his name in the papers too ... but for something positive instead of seeking pity like Lieberman.

Note to Joe .... We LIKE him because he is a partisan, you asshat. We DON'T support you because you too, were partisan .. justs for the wrong party, you Zell Miller wannabe. Now go lay down somewhere. Your act is tired and so are you. You lost the primary and are losing what little dignity you gained over the years, you pathetic pile of steaming dung. Be gone!

16. Yup. Lissen, Joe, you had your chance to take your retirement
and settle in with elder statesman of the party status.

You blew it. Now no one will listen to you.

So shut up.

12. I did find this, though, but only
with a picture of Herb Rosenthal.

"The task fell on the shoulders of First Selectman Herb Rosenthal, a Democrat, to contact Lieberman and tell him he wasn't welcome."I contacted Lieberman's people and told them it would be embarrassing for me and other Democratic town officials if he marched with us," Rosenthal said Thursday. "I and the Democratic Town Committee don't want to give the wrong idea that we are embracing his independent candidacy."

Ned Lamont will be joining us in the parade," said Chris McArdle of the Newtown DTC. "As our party's nominated candidate for senator, he enjoys the full support of the Democratic Town Committee."

Newtown has the largest Labor Day Parade in the state and it traditionally draws a cadre of politicians. Among the Democrats expected are State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Lt. Gov. Kevin Sullivan and Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz.

Meanwhile, Lieberman's camp is bristling with what it considers an insult.
