Maybe it's time for a flatout boycott of ABC |
|
First, the put together a show saying CLINTON (!) was responsible for 9/11, then they go out of their way to show it only to rightwing bloggers. This is a slap in the face on top of an insult. Clearly they only want rightwing customers, so maybe we should make their wishes come true.

1. I've already written them and told them I am boycotting their entire |
|
network and will be writing to their advertisers expressing my displeasure with their support of such right wing propaganda. I don't expect it to work, they have invested too much in getting this show aired to pull it but if it isn't me writing to them, then who?
If you do write be sure and use the word propaganda - call a spade a spade.

2. Boycott their advertisers too. |
|
This will hit them where they live. Advertising dollars are everything. If you notify to each of the advertisers of ABC's "Path to 9/11" that you are boycotting their products/companies due to their sponsorship of ABC's b.s. propaganda, that'll have an even bigger impact than just boycotting ABC alone.

Thank you for your note of concern. While this program is from the ABC Network I can assure you its only purpose is to commemorate the fifth anniversary of 9/11. We are not, have never been and will not be a propaganda machine for any person, political party or ideology beyond those freedoms that we as residents of the United States all enjoy.

6. And my response to that: |
|
If you are not a propaganda organ for the administration, then why are you using the "movie" from the 9/11 Commission Report to place the blame for 9/11 on Clinton, a claim the 9/11 Commission Report does not make?

11. Who the living hell would ENJOY a documentary about a bloody tragedy? |

'nuff said.
Let's write them letters with links to real proof Clinton was knocked down by repubs when he wanted to raise national security improvement efforts...

How many people will watch it? A few million? It's not as if 300,000,000 people will be sitting down with a nice bowl of soup and blaming Clinton. Just don't watch it.

But just not watching it won't solve a thing. this may not either, but it at least will let them know we are not happy with what they are doing.

Knowing full well that it may in fact be propaganda. See what happens with the duped masses after that.

I guess I could give it up. I think there is a conflict anyway with some other show I want to watch on HBO.

Whenever the RW or fundies call for a boycott of a movie or tv show, the first thing I wonder is, how can they be calling for a boycott based on something that they haven't seen yet (and to their credit, some of those advocating boycot have urged a boycott if it turns out the ABC program is as bad as is expected.) But watching the show drives up its ratings, and if it is indeed as bad as expected, I want more than anything for it to be a dismal failure in the ratings.
So, what to do: watch and then boycott, or not watch.
I'm inclined towards the latter.

20. It only drives up the ratings if you're a Nielsen family. Same with |
|
"boycotting". No one will know unless you have a Nielsen box.
