So How Are You Coping Without Malloy?
My Air America station filled in Malloy's spot with Thom Hartman (?) who while he is just as informed (if not more) and passionate as Malloy, he doesn't get into the theatrics I enjoyed or convey the type bile inducing rage I feel for * and all the other bushtards that follow him.

So how do you make do with the raw end of the deal?

4. I plan on listening to Lionel if the topic interests me
At least he's finally come around to realizing the administration lives to lie. And he goes after them on the air. But there's nothing like Malloy's consistent point of view.

Afterward, I listen to Bernie Ward on KGO via streaming.

5. Tell you the truth, I was genuinely surprised by the massive outcry...
I never listened to Malloy. I tend to take off my politics hat at night.

8. I am sad. He was screaming when my own cultural inhibitions were
stopping me from screaming. He was a sort of a proxy outlet. I will definitely follow him when he gets airborne again, as he puts it.

9. I love them both. Thom Hartmann is even more informed
than Mike and although he's low key, he's very passionate. I have to say I learn more about the historical perspective of today's events from Thom than from anyone else I read or listen to. I've been listening to him instead of Franken ever since the 2004 election when Franken declared there were no issues with the integrity of Ohio's vote.

That said, I miss Mike and hope to he will streamed wherever he ends up.

10. No one does what Mike does
He is a way to vent the outrage without destroying things I can't afford to replace. I love most of the true liberals that are out there. My regular listening covers almost all of them. Hartmann got me hooked on progressive radio which lead me to Malloy, Werbe, Basham, Rhodes, Ward, Taliafaro, Marvin, Elliot, Maddow, Seder and many others. They all offer something different that hits where it counts. They all offer a different perspective, but nobody replaces Mike. I just try to keep informed and hope it's not as long a break as between ieAmerica and AAR. If it is, I hope he gets to spend the time enjoying the company of Kathy and Molly Kay.

I've been listening to Brother Bernie for over twenty years and love his program, so I'm coping better than most people. Check him out till the Malloy thing is sorted out.

21. Ralps ran the thread last week.
We're listening to rebroadcasts from his IEAmerica days, programs from 2003. It's not the same, but it keeps the community together.

Nobody creats community like Malloy.

It's good to see you, w8liftinglady! :hi:

16. I have 5 podcasts left on my player -- when I've exhausted them...
I don't even wanna think about it. D'ya think Mike has any idea that so many of us out here worship him? Mike's simply cathartic. Without him the rage is gonna back up and I'm gonna blow a gasket!

But he does far too much self-promotion for my taste. He talks far too much about his books.

20. You at least still have re-runs
We're running Mike's shows from the IE America Radio days every night at 10, Eastern at the Head-On Radio Network (The H.O.R.N.) immediately following my show, "Head-On With Bob Kincaid."

www.headonradionetwork.com Click "Listen Live" and you're there.

With fifty hours of live, progressive programming per week, we welcome you to give a listen to America's Liberal Radio Network.

22. Not over it at all
Of course, I'll survive, but Air America just isn't the same. I like Hartmann's politics, but he's just not the same as a radio guy.

23. Mike taught us to be truthseekers
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 04:22 PM by roamer65
I hope his program comes back in some form, but if not he has taught me how to seek the truth. Once your eyes are "opened", you can't go back. Red pill or blue pill. I took the red one...

24. Good point
Welcome to DU. That, and Mike taught us to always watch our backs..

With a new outrage happening every day with the Bush regime, though, I really miss him. I just know he won't be silenced for long.
