Someone tell Ed Schultz to shut the duck up. Please
Once again, I long for Randy Rhodes. Ed is off on the Democrats calling for Rumsfeld to resign.

Sometimes Ed is so off base.

6. He says it's an old issue and everyone already knows Rummy is lame
He may have a point however I believe Rummy needs to go simply because anyone else would do a better job and save American lives.

It's just his opinion and for some reason people on DU get all over Ed for any tiny little thing they disagree with him on. Ed is on our side and I am glad we have him even if we are not on the same page all the time.

13. The only thing I saw was the comment...
"Ed is off on the Democrats calling for Rumsfeld to resign". Without the full context of the statement, I have no idea what is going on. Unfortunately I can't listen to Ed, until I leave work, so I won't be able to find out what exactly he is referring to.

Like you, I think Ed is on our side most of the time. I'm not going to get on him when I disagree with him occasionally.

4. I was so glad when XM droplped Ed and went to Randi full-time.
Ed seemed to be mostly about Ed. His ego was a big turn-off. Literally. I won't listen to him.

9. Well, I think it is dumb to do this now, it looks like nothing but a
political stunt. Why did our party wait until now to do this? He hasn't just gotten bad, he has been bad. It won't change anything, Rumsfield isn't going anywhere and the Dem's know it. IMO, Rumsfield is someone we can continue to call up and remind people about how incompetent the administration is. Using him as the poster boy for this mess in Iraq give us an advantage. If I though that we could actually muster up enough votes to remove him and that the situation would improve in Iraq after his removal, I would support this call by the Dem's. Unfortunately, I don't see it like that.

10. Ed does have a point
He is just suggesting that the American people already know Rummy is a failure and to bring up the issue again is a waste of time and won't score us any new political points.

Rummy does need to go though. It's amazing he is still in charge and anyone else would do a better job and save lives.

If Randy or anyone else gave the same argument, you wouldn't hear a peep out of anyone at DU. For some reason a lot of people here hate Ed because they disagree with him 10% of the time.

11. i think he's right. i think the admin is putting rummie out there
to deflect from it's failures. just another distraction. bush won't get rid of him because he IS such a good distraction. it's the smoke and mirrors, thing. we need to forget about rummie and start pounding the admin.

12. I'm listening to Ed Schultz right now
He's talking with a caller from California concerning a story in the Orange County Register on Representative Dana Rohrabacher - probably this story:

If I lived in Rohrabacher's district, I would've thrown him out a long time ago.

14. I'm one of Ed's defenders around here but
I think he's off base here. All you're going to hear from the Rove squawk box between now and November is "Dems weak on terror", "Dems aiding al-Qaida", etc. The Amurkin voters are collectively so fucking dumb that the only thing they understand is shit that's been drummed into their thick goddamn skulls by repetition. They need to hear "Rummy incompetent", "Rummy must go" and "Why isn't * firing Rummy" as well.

15. I like Ed too, but he is wrong on this
As one caller pointed out, it keep the Republicans on the defensive and reminds everyone of the long list of disasters attached to Rummy's name. It may keep a lot of Republicans home.
