Hi. I just went to see Superman Returns yesterday, and so rented the movie Superman I, II and III - just got done with number 2.
After watching Superman Returns, I read a review that says basically that Superman is still fighting for truth and justice, but not the american way anymore.
I'm not ashamed to be an american, but I look back on before the Iraq war, where I at least believed we would always try to do the right thing.
I don't really believe that anymore. How did things change in such a short time - or was it just my illusions that were broken?
How depressing - not to mention seeing Christopher Reeve looking so young and healthy. Makes me think - I wish there was a real superman to put the world back to the way it should be, and to fly Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld to the state penitentiary to share a cell with Lex Luthor.

2. We have a C-minus president doing an F-minus job, so it would |

take SuperMan and all the Avengers to tip the balance back to Good.
But we'll do it.
This little hellcat will be out of office in a couple of years and we're going to put a Democrat in that office, and that alone will do a lot of good.
It's auspicious that the Republican presidential hopeful field is comprised of vacuous morons and lame-ass ego-maniacs.
2008 will be a Democratic year.
SuperMan's cool. I'm waiting for the third SpiderMan film. I might even camp out for it.

4. Yeah, good observation, its super reflected in the culture. |
|
I was listening to the old Hulk Hogan theme song, "I am a real America" where its all about fighting for the rights of "every man" and doing what's right. But now, "professiona wrestling" is all about Stone Cold Steve Austin, a character modelled off serial killers. This is just from the white trash wrestling realm, but the cultural shifts associated with Bush are ubiquitous. There is a real change in conciousness taking place, and it has been happening for some time.
