What do you think about the actors in the 9/11 ABC Clinton bashing movie? |
|
ABC = All Because of Clinton.
I just happened to catch a glimpse of a picture of one of the actors on the Clinton bashing movie and I thought a little less of the actor because he was involved with this fraud. Maybe it's not a coincidence that the same guy, Harvey Keitel, played the role of the Freemason in "National Treasure."
I'm just wondering why any actor with any awareness of the lies that this Administration has spread, and which is bringing this country down to its knees, would be involved with a project which continues to feed the public with misinformation?

National Treasure is one of my comfort movies, but I think that Keitel may have fucked that up. I use to love that scene when he looks at the FBI agent who just told him that someone had tipped them off that the Declaration of Independence was going to be stolen, but they didn't find the information credible. Keitel has that deadpan face of his and says, "How about now?"

3. Harvey Kietel is a domestic abuser |
|
He treated Lorraine Bracco horribly -- he controlled her physically and emotionally, and physically harmed her while she was pregnant. I always got a creepo vibe off of him anyway, but she's recently come out with a bunch of stuff after years of therapy and treatment for depression, so screw 'em. This is just the icing on that cake for me.

4. You learn a lot about actors, by the roles they play. Don't you? |
|
Look at Mel Gibson. Always looking for a good cause to go postal -- in his movies, anyways.

14. Blaming actors for the movies they appear in is stretching it a bit. |
|
Actors are paid to believably deliver the words of others. sort of like Bush, only he's lousy at it.

16. But then, wouldn't the reverse be true too? |
|
If it were all objective, then we wouldn't find actors, like Mel Gibson, seeking roles that amplify their own beliefs?
Anyway, I'm ready to give Keitel the benefit of the doubt based on what I've read:
Mr. Ben-Veniste said he did, however, approve of the casting. “I like Harvey Keitel,” he said of the actor who plays John O’Neil, the onetime F.B.I. counterterrorism expert who died in the attacks. “I liked him in ‘Mean Streets.’ I’m a fan.”
Comes from the NYT.

17. not really: mel gibson is PRODUCING movies he appears in |
|
therefore he has creative control over the product. still a different thing from an actor landing a role in a project they don't produce.

you're talking about actors, the vast majority of which should be in the "people who will eat things for money" catagory. A few of them can turn written word into fine art, but mostly it's the former.
Keitel could play bush as Jesus, and would never be as bad as something like Saturn 3.

Okay, but I'm sure that the best actors will show some respectful limits.

10. They need the work on their resume and the dollars. |
|
Most Americans will forsake the truth for that. As for the known repuke operatives in the movie, it is to be expected.

15. I think I found my answer in the NYT: |
|
Harvey Keitel played the role of John O'Neil and, I'm going out on a limb, but probably did so to honor the man. Perhaps he wasn't even aware of the controversial anti-Clinton scene?
Here's the clip from the NYT:
"Mr. Ben-Veniste said he did, however, approve of the casting. “I like Harvey Keitel,” he said of the actor who plays John O’Neil, the onetime F.B.I. counterterrorism expert who died in the attacks. “I liked him in ‘Mean Streets.’ I’m a fan.”"

ask any actor or musician.
it doesn't mean they agree with the politics anymore than Kool and the gang are jewish if they play at a bar mitzvah.

I can understand why some directors would make exceptions. The casting on National Treasure resulted in some good chemistry interactions. Loved Sean Bean and Dustin Bartha.

23. SPIELBERG & my man Oliver STONE work with the wingnut |
|
behind the movie, the Persian-American Cyrus NOSFERATU, LIMBOsevic's "friend". Formerly uber-Lib SPIELBERG is currently using him for a movie about the U.S. conquering the West, besides having endorsed his pal Ahhhhnuld. And Oliver was the executive producer of "The Day (RAYGUN) Was Shot," which this wingnut wrote. That's us Libs---we give a leg up to creepos like this while backing ourselves off cliffs.
