Would the capture/death of Osama win the Election(s) for the repubs? |
|
I'm not predicting, just day dreaming and thinking like they do. If the got him today, would it help them in November? If they captured or killed him before the presidential election, would it help the republicans?
Sadly I think it would. Who knows? I can't keep up.

3. I would hope Americans aren't that gullible. I don't think Bush... |
|
or the Republicans got any real boosts lately with capturing the #2's or the alleged airline plot in England. I also hope the declining gas prices don't fool Americans and they can see it for what it is.

4. I am not sure but I think it is why he is getting so much play now |
|
Bush has not used his name in months so he has to try now. Maybe he in in jail some place but I would think that hard to keep under cover. Also the whole thing has left Larden behind and the movement is on its own or so I think. The leader needs the followers to get to the front and make the point and then they thing often just runs on its own. If you know what I mean. The movement is the thing and the leader takes up its ways not the other way around. Or that is how I think it goes. People usually do not kill them self for a man but do for a ideal. Even the old royals used in the name of God for their battles.

I can just see Bush walking into the press room and saying; "We got him" ala Saddam.
By contrast the Dem response; "what took you so long" would be weak.
Now having said that, I don't think it's in the cards. Why? Because having him out and about is a lot better. If he is captured then a major factor behind the continuing fear campaign is removed and the Am sheeple can go back to quiet contemplation of their mundane lives.

8. Yes, and I'd have to consider a move to Canada |
|
because they just can't win this election and us retain much of our constitution. I will cheer his capture but would have to consider leaving. Crazy, isn't it?

Unfortunately, I think it would help them. Fortunately, I don't think we have too much to worry about there. The BFEE and the Bin Laden families are far too closely tied financially for the little idiot to EVER lay a finger on him. I've been saying this ever since since 9/11.
Frankly, I'm much more worried about the voting machines than using a capture of Bin Laden to win the election. Much too messy, that.
Why take any 'real' action when its so much easier to make a few clicks with a mouse and voila!, Republican victory!

Yours is a very fair assessment. After all, they have used that particular trick once or twice in the past, IMO.
I just don't think he's been given the OK, from the REAL powers that be, to actually take him out. Too much 'HUGH' money involved, and besides, did taking out the Trade Towers really do all that much damage to the little idiot?
If the moron in chief ever gives the go ahead to capture or kill Bin Laden, it won't be because of any grievous injury done to the United States. Remember, its only a lack of 'personal' loyalty to him that really gets his dick in a knot. I'm afraid our President will never care that much about the country.
Bin Laden has just been far too beneficial to Bush for him to defy the wishes of the rest of the cabal and actually put a price on his head.
Just a few of the thoughts that have been banging around in my head for the last 5 years.

11. As transparent as that would be, YES |
|
But, right after the election, the hunger for the terror war would go away. People would feel like the movie's over, so they would want to move on. The boogie man would be killed.
So, it is being held close to their chest, because it is a one shot weapon, and one that would injure them to use, in the long run, as they could no longer effectively scare the public.

13. I really doubt it would matter. |
|
What's more important is that Democrats do not seem to be daily asking the Bush administration why they haven't yet captured him. Given that he's been allowed to disappear for the most part from the public debate, his death or capture would be a two day wonder and not really affect the election at all.
What's really matters is that Democrats continue to allow Republicans to frame the entire debate, rather than seizing control themselves.
