"Great presidents embrace bad news"
"mediocre presidents run away from it".

Wow.

Just wow.

I'm watching Lincoln on the History Channel.

One of the historians made that observation about Lincoln.

He cried, I mean broke down and cried, when the first union officer was killed in battle (he was one of Lincoln's good friends).

He subjected himself to the scorn and ridicule of the disgruntled soldiers, and the widows of dead soldiers.

He put himself in constant danger by visiting his men out in the field.

Fast forward to today.

We couldn't have a more "mediocre" president.

1. He was a great president
who truly cared for the people and he took the time to know the military and help when he could and educate himself. The story of him and his son is so sad. :(

2. Even on his best days, * couldn't possibly rise to the level of mediocre.

3. Mediocre president.... would that be....
a president that ignored a hurricane that wiped out a major part of the U.S. for days, a president that didn't give a statement about a tsunami that wiped out thousands for days, a president
that never went to a funeral of a soldier who died in his war...
