1. Bush has made it plain that he wants to try people |
whose confessions may have been extorted by torture in "military" (insert "kangaroo") courts. No one that believes in due process of law can support this.

16. But our legal system is based on the British system, which has |
had habeas corpus for 900 years.

3. Absofreakinglutely! People, if you don't draw the line here, where |
will you draw it? This is where the rubber hits the road. We are in a position that, if such legislation passes and you are considered one of the administration's enemies, you will have no right to due process. This is where this is headed. He cannot just haave congress suspend habeous corpus for only noncitizens, given that there are also terrorists who are Americans too. We cannot afford to keep Dems who will line up behind this type of policy because they are no different than Republics.

4. Yes. This is the crossroads all of this has led us to. |
This is where our system of government has a chance to continue or it ENDS. There is no further road, I repeat, there is no further road whereby there is any sort of middle AT ALL.

7. I doubt those are real terrorists |
Most of those "terrorists" are probably just good people anyway caught up in an illegal war. Think about the families and the children!!!

8. You can't have a president decide who or who isn't a terrorist, |
judge them in secret, and punish them in secret. Only 8% in Gitmo are even accused of being terrorists and he plans none of this to even affect their fate at all because they want them to be untouchable by any courts (no jurisdiction outside of US).
