that made me slap my forehead. Addressing the reason * never followed through on his "dead or alive" re ObL, he said the Wregime needs a "boogeyman" — that simply invoking "the terrists" doesn't serve their fear agenda as well as having a face and a name, in the spirit of Hitler/Tojo/Mussolini, one supposes.

I'd never considered this before, yet it was such a "duh" moment.

they will probably "capture" him right before November....if not, they'll save him for 2008. It's really sad actually, a country with resources such as ours - it's got to be embarrassing to those in security positions who really do want him in custody.

6. Frankly,

I wouldn't be shocked if we discover in a few years that he's been under protective custody in a Pakistani CIA safehouse this entire time. Sorry to be so cynical, but absolutely nothing would surprise me at this point.
