12. Kerry called for Rumsfeld's resignation in 2003 and 2004 - More Dems |

should have backed him up on that call. Why they didn't, even after Abu Ghraib, is a mystery.

4. He Just Made the Best Comment Ever |
|
The army that took down Saddam was Clinton's army. He reminded the Senate that Bush had barely been president and the army was Clinton's. It was Wonderful!

A third rate army in a country weakened to its knees by 10 years of sanctions, which had not one single military aircraft able to fly because of air superiority and the 'no fly zones' is surrounded by the most technological powerful military in the world and squashes the hornets nest, only to find itself stuck in a quagmire.
Kerry never thinks more than six months ahead. That's a problem I have with him.
Yes, it was Clinton's army. Hell a second rate army could have done what was done in the first six weeks. Bush was an idiot to invade and attempt to occupy Iraq for all the reasons his daddy didn't do it. Kerry was irresponsible to enable it with the IWR which EVERYONE KNEW Bush wanted to use as a fig leaf to enable his little war adventure.
Screw em both

If only Too Late John had rolled these things around his head back when something could have been DONE about it.
I never tire of being amused by the Go John Chorus, who somehow find a current fighting force in this man. Respectfully, Mr. Kerry should retire with dignity and let some new blood take up the charge. Hopefully, new blood that won't do things like cast the wrong vote at the wrong time, or throw in the towel so early in a national election.

8. But You're Forgetting Something |

Americans who support the army find fault with Clinton. You may be right but those who don't think equate Dems and Clinton with lack of security. For the Repukes to say Clinton's army is bad is an attack (perhaps through the backdoor) of their President today. I think strategically, it was a very good point for him to make.

deadly chaos that is Iraq. I liked that he called out the Administration to fish or cut bait, in so many words. If Iraq stands on its own, it stands on its own. We need to support that by withdrawing our troops.
I realize there is and always will be the IWR hanging over this Senator's head, as well as the whole Senate. But today Kerry did a great job, imo, focusing the issue on what we do now.
There's a (R) rebuttal now. He's whining about Kerry's statements as a "political ploy". Duh. Anytime you hear that it means the speaker is on the defensive and has no answer.

but it's more fun for people to blame dems for voting for the IWR and let Bush off the hook, when he would have invaded without it.
This is Bush's war.

Actually, he is rather far behind on the whole calling Bush out thing.
Such fire and brimstone would've been helpful during the election.
