While visiting my father-in-law who lies dying in a hospital.

So, who are these Nazis of whom the president speaks?

The time is now.

Onward.

Put another sticker on your car ...

A gentleman helped me put two cases of copy paper into my trunk at Office Depot today. I thanked him, he replied, no problem. Then complimented me on my Bumper Stickers. But, I live in the Bluest County in Florida - Broward.

Leafleting?

I won't take a chance on bumper sticker, even here in Broward. (My car gets banged up enough in parking lots as it is.) It only takes one schmuck.

BTW, I've proposed that we should have a meetup after the election. Your thoughts on this are welcome.

And likewise.

My thinking was that a lot of us would be very busy before the election, and it would be difficult to get people loose from their various campaign activities. But I'm good for whenever.

Ach! I'm so bad at commitments! But leaflets sound attractive.

8. Contact the hospital
and ask if there are security cameras in the parking lot. If there are, they may review the film themselves, or they may allow you to review it, too. In any case, the film in question can be turned over to the police.

insults at me . My very best response to them is "It's takes a real
man to yell at women driving down the road" dripping w/ :sarcasm:

I love to antagonize them and watch their faces turn red ,
when I ask them why they are not in Iraq.

They are cowards if they are yelling at me and not in Iraq
fighting for their "noble cause" ...I tell them that straight
to their faces .

16. Absolutely, this is exactly the tactic to pursue.
There are security cameras surveilling most Hospital parking lots.
Call the hospital and ask if they have cameras there.
Or look for yourself.
Call the police, report the incident, state that you intend to press charges.

Then call the Hospital, ask to speak to an administrator, and tell him what happened in HIS/ HERS parking lot. Tell the administrator that you intend to press charges... but don't say upon whom. Tell them the police have been informed, and you intend to file a full report (which you should most certainly do).

Watch them jump to help find the perpetrators, after all... that's what you really want.

Spend some time dragging their asses to court - a couple days total - to make the point clear;

"We live in a Nation of LAWS!"

It would be worth it to me.

Oh... and recoup ALL your losses from the fucktards in court.

41. Right,
Then the only concern is whether or not that mentality has pervaded the very system empowered to prevent such chaos.

If this is indeed your life's work, then it's likely you already know the judge that will deal with this matter. In which case you can say definitively which approach would work best.

If you are in a town where you can 'get even', then you already know quite well that without a public admonishment levvied on the offenders, you beg for mortal escalation.

That is why we have laws... I assume you know that.

If these are just pissants who can't really touch you, then why would you be concerned for your family?

Only public address through standards of law can grant relief in this matter. Otherwise I hope you have a friend to help bury the bodies... and one hell of an alibi.

If the judge is the partisan only you here could know him to be, then perhaps it's best to leave such a town to it's own devices...

-Just sayin'.

38. Good advice but don't bet on it...
During the 2004 elections we had all of our campaign posters torn off of our front windows, and then "F**king Baby Killers" hand written signs were taped all over our front doors. We put a camera inside the windows and caught several pictures of middle aged women vandalizing the office. But the officers felt that there was no real threat, even though there was only one person manning the office throughout office hours. And even though we felt intimidated and threatened because obviously pro-choice people had been murdered in this state for their views, the police didn't act as though this was at all a big deal.

45. Yes, I agree. They frightened the workers but only did petty
vandalism to the property. This did not constitute a major crime. But because of the hatred expressed in the graffiti that was obviously anti pro-choice, and becuase of recent killings at abortion clinics, the workers were more than a bit on edge. They didn't expect the police to panic, but they did hope for more than a grin and a few giggles. But then again, our election headquarters were in a red state. And even though we caught the lady vandalizing on tape, there were no investigations.

How do you know your car was vandalized just because of your sticker? Did the punks leave a message stating that's why they did it? I mean, it's too bad your car got damaged at all, but I just wonder if maybe you are jumping to conclusions? Anyway, I hope the police catch whoever did it and they at least have to pay for the damage.

17. It's a good question, but sometimes it is obvious.
When your car is in a parking lot and you do not see a stream of damage, but instead experience isolated destruction....chances are it has something to do with messages on the car.

Random violence would result in the offenders bashing in the headlights/side mirrors of several cars in a row. Targeted violence tends to be associated with bumper stickers.

but not because of a bumper sticker. The afternoon of the day the Iraq war began I pointed out to someone at work that we shouldn't be going after Iraq, as they had nothing to do with 9/11. Before noon the next day, my car (my NEW car) was keyed.

One of the advantages of driving a junker is that there's less of a downside if some knuckle-dragging neanderthal takes exception to my bumper stickers.

Either I've been lucky or mine don't inspire rage as much as others:

"We're Making Enemies Faster Than we Can Kill Them"

"Start Seeing Lies & Spin"

"Got Osama?" (in the official "Got Milk?" font)

People like that are pure chicken shit. The kind of trash who destroys people's property over a bumper sticker are cowards who are too afraid to serve in Iraq.

55. Put an ad in your local paper
Asking for witnesses to the vandalization by right-wing thugs who can no longer argue ideas but simply resort to violence against anyone who disagrees with them. Offer a token reward, $25 or so. If you get an ID, prosecute the vermin. And use the word Nazi or fascist in the ad. That way, even though it's unlikely anyone will come forward, you get to publicly taunt the punks.

56. A suggestion:
I seem to remember that this happened to another DUer some time ago. I think they wrote foul language on her car with spray paint next to her bumper stickers.

Her response, which I thought was an excellent "turning of the tables" on the bastards, was to print a large sign which had an arrow pointing to the obscenities and a sentence that said something like, "Right Wing Family Values".

You don't say what the vandalism was, but maybe a response like that would work for you?

Otherwise, I'm sorry they did that to you. Take it as a sign of how threatened they must be feeling right now. And remember that it's pretty much a rule historically that people who are saying and doing the right thing are harrassed by the ignorant, evil masses until the next more enlightened age comes along.
