8. It's another example
of Democrats stepping on their own dicks over absolutely nothing.

That "report" was so stupid, so unnecessary, you'd swear there was a freeper mole in Reid's office.

I lose so much hope when bullshit like this takes place, and I look around and realize there is NO ONE in the Democratic Party who's going to stand up with a platform and throw the punches and take the punches and then punch the opposition back so hard that their dead grandmothers have pain.

I am daily fading away farther and farther from the Democrats, and it's breaking my heart.

They are just so fucking incompetent.

9. I complained about this the other night!
Lots of people on DU told me they thought Reid was great and I was wrong for criticizing him! Well, I still think he was wrong for appologizing. If you think you're right, you don't appologize! That's why I like Howard Dean and yes, Hillary! I know every time I heard somebody ask Howard if he wished to appologize of rethink his statements, HE alsawys said NO, I stand by my statement!

I'm really tired of the Dems backtracking and acting like cowards! Think about what you're going to say before you open your mouth, but when you do...have the balls to stick by it!

11. That WAPO article still says
the dems accepted money also from Abramoff. By apologizing he is saying that they too are implicated. Melman doesn't want it to be a 'partisan' scandal, is it or isn't it? Did the Dems take money, I was under the definite impression that they had nothing to do with Abramoff. If they didn't he just muddied the waters by apologizing.

except Harry S Truman.

When Reid folded in the face of Frist's threat of a "nuclear option," I knew he was a wimp.

He's no kind of leader, especially now.

Wusses, all of them. Flapping wusses.

Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 11:45 PM by jsamuel
I think he may have violated an ethics rule when he sent that out and he is basically required to apologize or get sent to the ethics committee, but I am not sure. The apology had nothing to do with Dems, but had to do with the fact that he NAMED Republican Senators as corrupt.

He's an embarrassment to the Democratic party. He took Abramoff money (70K) and holds on even after Republicans saw the wisdom of spewing it up.

We need far better leaders.

40. To be fair. It's not illegal to take money from tribes.
They are his constituants. After they got involved with JackOff they started funneling money away from the dems and to the republicans.

My point isn't to bash Reid over the tribal money.

It's to bash him for apologizing for speaking the damn truth...

44. I won't argue that pont at all. But we're dealing with what the law is.
Not what it should be.

It's also a fact that after JackOff got involved with the tribes, their money started going to the American Nazi Party, and stopped going to the Democrats.

45. Agreed
There were Democrats who took money from associates of Abramoff, but nobody on either side of the aisle has produced one shred of evidence that any Democrat on the Hill took money from Abramoff himself.

Which cannot be said for the Republicans.
